I’m a US Citizen migrated many years from the Caribbean and I’m so elated to hear your preparation and determination for your visa. Whilst I came here on a regular visa, my road was not like yours. Now living in the US, when folks ask me how, I say prepare. They probably think I’m mad. I mean prepare not superficially but deeply. This is very informative for me as I'm preparing for my interview next month. I'm in the same shoes as you about the program I have been admitted to and the one in my I-20 is different. My intended program on my acceptance letter is Business-Economic and my I-20 was Econometrics. My admission officer told me the code was not in the sevis system and she had to put me in the econometrics. So what do you think I should answer that question If I was asked?

College and university are pretty much same thing. If you mean community college- the answer is no. The granting of your visa is not dependent on the school you’re going but on you proving the validity of going there … if you’re unable to prove or satisfy the requirements you’re seen as someone who’s just trying to migrate
