I just wanted to say you did an excellent job. I am actually sharing this video with my international students coming to study in the US in Colorado because it is great advice - with a small exception...While we care in general about how you are doing - but it is such a common phrase used for greetings, we are sometimes a little shocked to hear something other than "Im fine"...Also "we" Americans are sometimes plagued by the desire to be fixers, and it because they dont know how to fix it they dont want to say something stupid or inconsiderate. This is clearly not always the case - some people truly dont care, but I think it is more common that they are caught off guard and dont know what to say:)

Thanks for your comment ! Crazy to know that you'll share it with others but I'm glad you like it ! What you said is true though :)

@Kathi You have the greatest attitude for a teenage girl I've had the pleasure of watching. You're smart, positive, pretty and your eyes tell me that you're unique... like VERY unique. I get the feeling that you're special in a "Starchild" sort of way... and that's a GOOD thing! Your host family(s) are very lucky to share with you, and I wish you all of the very best in your exchanges. You never said where you are from though?! Your dialect is so well-Americanized that it's hard to nail down... you sort of have a slovic feel (like Russia, Belarus, slovakia, etc), but at the same time I know German girls that sound much like you when speaking American. Oh, I use the term American with our language instead of English, because we are THAT different from "the Queen's English" with our language. Funny, I had a friend from England (still do) and he told me once that we speak Americanese... I thought that quite funny! Ok, so where are you from? *Even though this is so old I guess you'll never see this post.(?) I wish you all the very best!

I actually liked to hear the things that people don't like about the USA. When I was a teenager (before the internet...when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I had several pen-pals from Europe. I even remained friends with some after I graduated. One of them was from the UK and eventually came for a visit. One of the things he didn't like, and couldn't understand, was the love of firearms. He didn't understand, until he visited. Not only did I let him fire some weapons, I took him hunting. He actually managed to get a deer. Afterward, he couldn't get enough. I even let him see an old flamethrower my grandfather owned. He absolutely freaked out when he learned that it is perfectly legal to own a functioning flamethrower in the US. XD He really lost his mind when I let him help me use some explosives to get rid of a pesky stump. He actually set the quarter sticks off. He was actually shaking as he used the detonator. And yes, it is legal to buy explosives in the US.

Hey, it went soooooo good, like i dont have words for it... and probably you know what i mean. Everything is there so different then in Europe. I almost stayed there, I got a schoolarship on college for football, but it was to much paper work and didnt have time to get it all done in time.. So Im back in EU, but definitely going back! WBU?

Danke !
