Thanks Kris551000. It's been a dream of mine to see Graceland walk where Elvis walked and lived, it was a pleasure to see your video, so thanks for making and sharing. I've been an Elvis fan from UK since the age of 5 the year of his death and the funeral in 77...which I can still remember, its hazy now but as I say to people, it's like the world stopped that day and it was similar to JFK or a King of a country dying..it's just something you never forget. I remember hearing Elvis stunning voice playing on the radio a few weeks or months later as a single was released in the UK after his death, I was getting my haircut when it came on by a hairdresser who was an Elvis fan and had the Elvis hair style and big side burns! The first album I ever bought aged 16 when I started work was Aloha from Hawaii on cassette tape...which I wore out!. This was long before I even saw Elvis perform in that epic concert as we didn't own a VCR until much later. When I did watch it, it was strange as I had heard the audio many many times. I'm still a huge Elvis fan now aged 47 and always learning new things about him or discovering new things.. I just recently discovered the late American comedian Andy Kaufman (by chance from the R.E.M song Man on the Moon..'goofin on Elvis' got me curious) his Elvis impersonation was damn good!

Thank you for posting this video. It was nice to see it as it was before the Guesthouse at Graceland hotel and the Elvis Presley's Memphis visitors complex.

Elvis Presley's Graceland's is the 'other' Whitehouse...the most visited and important place in USA.

Sadly the area doesn't look as good in 2018 as it use to be by people who have been visiting the area almost every year since 1982. Heartbreak Hotel and a lot of Other stuff has been torn down replaced by ugly eye sorer Warehouse Buildings. i'm glad i saw the Mansion and Boulevard area with the Trees, Green, Flora, Gardens, Etc as it looked much more beautiful before it was turned into Disneyland.

Memphis use to be a party town but over the years it's become more like the wild , wild , west
@craigterlino42165 жыл бұрын
Shouldn'tet that ruin the experience. The focus is his spirit in Graceland, which is alive and well, but yeah times change unfortunately. The guest house is better for the attraction. Its no Disneyland. No kids and uptight parents. Early February is the time to go.

I wonder how much the road has changed since Elvis was alive in 1977 when he last drove down there? I looked on a map on Google and noticed there's loads of new fast food chains now all around Graceland's, KFC, Taco Bell etc. Real estate prices must be crazy around there with the amount of Elvis fans and Elvis tourists worldwide that pass down that road and stay around the area. I bet Elvis would have love that, he could have driven to the drive-in's and got his cheeseburger or fried chicken in some unassuming looking car with his hat on and nobody would recognise him....or maybe he'd arrive with his Memphis Mafia in like 3 cars with the cape and stick and all the traffic would be jammed up down that road while Elvis got his fast food meal lol. Saying that, he'd probably get free home delivery from any of those places and just call it in ha ha. Another thought, the amount of businesses that have setup around that area trading off Elvis's name and selling stuff to fans and tourists... I bet these wouldn't be there if Elvis was alive, or if they were, I wonder how he'd react to them.. knowing Elvis being a generous person he'd probably not take any legal action and leave them be. Even in the UK, there's pubs and places using Elvis's name to sell stuff. Just yesterday I went into a bar restaurant and got some 'Elvis Juice' beer. Imported from USA. Seriously.
