I miss the 727's, beautiful looking plane. The 727 does not show its age, looks modern still today.

I miss it too, if I could own a vintage jetliner it would be a 727-200 with JT8D-15s.

That's a beautiful bird! I miss the 727. If this one was built in 1984, it must have been one of the last ones.

Brings back some fond memories as a young 19 year old kid working at Boeing. I installed electrical wiring in the cockpit. Most of it was running wire bundles behind the Flight Engineer's panel into conduit down to the lower section. None of the panels were installed yet just the frame. Fun times..

Brings back memories of my time flying Diesel 8's and B-720/707 freighters, which were all built prior to 1965. I think the oldest Boeing I flew was a B-707-420 with Rolls Royce Conways, was built in 1961, an ex-British Airways bird that was still earning its keep into the 1990's. It went to South America to be spare parts after our outfit folded. The oldest DC-8-10 I flew was built in the same year it rolled out, 1959, an ex-Delta or United (not sure, I think United as I remember faded light blue paint under the 'new' white). This one was special because it got upgraded engines and was converted to a -20 series when it was with the airline. It never got the third update with even better turbines to -30. That damned airplane burned fuel like water going over Niagara Falls. Those were the days. There used to be a few B-727-200F's flying as freighters here in Canada registered to Kelowna Flightcraft, which I am pretty sure are all scrapped now. All Canada Express used to fly B-727-200F's out of Vancouver and Montreal until 2005 with their somewhat famous Ace of Spaces tailfin livery. The aircraft were sold to an outfit in Nigeria the following year. Could be wrong, but I am pretty sure these were the last B-727's that were airworthy and registered in Canada. Have a nice flight!

What a beauty! Look at that cockpit! That's a real jet IMO. Those P&W JT8Ds are just as impressive. What a jet! 💪🏼 🇺🇸

I loved the 727 !!!!!!!! Any time I could find out that I could ride in one I booked the flight. They were hot rods !!!! I was in one coming to LAX from Tulsa that had to go to about 45 K. I forget what kind of storm was in the way, but it was great fun going over the Colorado river and into CA while it was clear and I could see the ground. Thanks for showing the plane !!!!!

Very nice video. Got to see some stuff most of us never see. Thanks for getting on board and showing us. The plane looked almost empty, bet that was a pricey for what looked to be torque converters for transmissions.

I flew into Willow Run many times when they were having nascar races and saw lots of USA Jet aircraft on the ramp. Might have been there at the same time Dewey. Sad that the museum’s hangar was destroyed by fire. Always tried to visit it when I was there.

Nice looking 727 and one of the last to be built. Now when you see one on a ramp its like seeing a DC3. Kind of miss 'em. I was with Kalitta 24 years so I have plenty of 727, DC8 and 747 world tours. Flew the red and white Emery birds at Dayton for a while too. Thanks for the vid, hope to see you on a grass strip somewhere this summer.

Dewey, I live just north of Dayton and I spent a lot of time at that airport. My dad and I used to go to Avaition Sales and pay for rides in a 172. The Emory terminal used to be there and that place was hopping, anything from 707's to 747's....DC8's, L1011's, took my kids there to watch planes often. Now my son works there! Avaition is my bug and your stuff is great. Thanks for the time you spend to show us your life in Avaition.
