I have a Kabar 1235, which is a small 4-inch blade that looks just like those. It was my hunting knife as a kid in the 1960s.

I think that Western was one of the knives the Boy Scouts chose for a one of their fixed blades. Some really nice 1232. You might be able to tighten those loose leather washers by soaking them in some leather conditioners. They might just be dried up . Interesting how the knife differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. It's also interesting how we don't think twice about how many times companies were bought and traded in past decades but we howl bout it today (I'm thinking Ontario). I was surprised that the Ka-Bar B&T was made in China. I'm not sure why. I knew they have made quite a few knives in China but I just didn't think that one was! Great video. Loved seeing those beautiful 1232s For what it is worth, a Small Rant - I swear every made in Japan made for an American Company was made by Tak Fukuta or Seizo Imai. This could very well be true but more accurately, it was manufactured in the factory owned by Tak Fukuta or Seizo Imai. And yes the factories had high quality standards but they also built them to the specs of the American Company. So if the company set low standards, the knife was not as good as it could be. So a Ka-Bar coming out of one these factories might use a better steel or handle material than say a Frost or Parker knife. - Rant over Hang in there, buddy. Springs around the corner!
