This vast area of 33,000 km² in rural Virginia, where radio communication is restricted, is used for scientific research and military intelligence.

Steel is a good electromagnetic shield, it is a great conductor. PVC is a decent insulator, but not a good electromagnetic shield.

Interesting documentary about the location & it's habitants but the thumbnail is clickbait nonsense, there's literally 20 seconds about the USGOV surveillance assets that exist in the Quiet Zone. Do better ARTE.

A few mistakes in the verbiage. Steel is highly conductive, but also an effective electromagnetic shield. Plastic or PVC is a decent electric insulator but not a good electromagnetic shield.

There is a band frequencies that are banned. I would imagine the frequency emitting from the fob is not an issue. They also don’t really hunt down the people violating the ordinance. It’s $25 fine if I remember correctly. I own a cabin and can see the satellite from my porch
