Why do you do it in such a complicated way? Because a^b^c=a^(b*c) so a^b^c^d=a^(b*c*d) then 2^3^4^k=2^(3*4*k) moreover 512=2^9 therefore, the initial equation 2^3^4^k=512 leads to 3*4*k=9 The solution for k is k=9/(3*4)=3/4
