This is one of Americas best foreign interventions. Well done USA.

Absolutely. They came, they bombed the ones who had to be bombed, they let the coalition forces to gain ground to secure fair position for both sides in the peace negotiations and practically ended the war. I am, however, sad that it didn't happen back in 1993. But I understand, Clinton didn't had the support of his allies before 1995. I think that he even went on his own in 1995, without Britain and France, but I'm not sure

@@abdessamadlaidouni4674 During the final Serbian siege on Bihać, from 19th to 25th July 1995, it looked like the Bosniak troops will fall, surrounded by Serbian forces from all sides. Americans suggested airstrikes and even deployment of troops in order to protect Bihać, but it was refused by Britain and France, who argued that it would mean that international community would put herself on one side.

You know what I remember about Republicans that everyone seems to have forgotten? How adamantly they were opposed to the Bosnian peace plan because it "put troops in harm's way". Guess what: no troops were harmed there. Fast forward to Iraq...you get the point.

There were casualties in Bosnia. Couple of troops drown after crashing off a bridge and a couple others from land mines. I was there in January 1996. In fact Hillary came to my camp, no snipers that day or any other day I was there, but she said there were and people still believe her. I also remember not so long ago when democrats freaked out that Trump wanted to get out of Syria, but I guess that was different right?

Clinton's finest hour. Gotta love how a majority of Repubs opposed this mission because (so they said) it would put troops in harm's way, however they had no problem with the Iraq wars (not a single American soldier was killed in combat in Bosnia, although several did die from other causes). I actually went there during that time (Jan. '98) and can tell you it was as safe as a post-war region could be (this was prior to Kosovo). The only qualm I had is why didn't Clinton go in in 1993, and why did he pull out of Rwanda? We've got to take the lead in Peacekeeping, not Warmaking. Hopefully the next administration will continue this path.

I saw somewhere that the reason why Clinton didn’t sanction any intervention into Rwanda is that he was worried that it might end up like the one in Somalia in earlier years. He regrets not intervening to this day.

Meanwhile he did absolutely nothing while 500,000 were hacked down with machetes in Rwanda... He should have clarified that we can stop some wars... when it's in the strategic interest of the United States
