This US relay team was awesome and FAST. Each member should be complimented, and Rai did what the anchor was supposed to do! The first leg sets the tone, and 2 & 3 get the lead and hold it. Job well done and Congratulations on winning the gold! New Olympic record!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite parts was seeing Vernon catch Matthew Hudson Smith in a low 43! Like, seriously, to catch the second fastest person in the world this year and pass him from behind is INSANE and shows the amazing shape in which Vernon is this year…too bad he was not more peaked at the trials to make the team! I’m very happy he has two Olympic medals, though, because he deserves it…along with Little…she deserves to have Olympic medals! By the way, this is Vernon Norwood, not Rai Benjamin up here.

He did not! Matthew ran a split of 43.09. Tebogo ran 43.04
@stevie5862 ай бұрын
@@Afriks-Yaw what are you talking about? Did you not see the race? Vernon Norwood very clearly ran Matthew Hudson Smith from behind…go back and watch the race! Why are you even mentioning Tebogo when they didn’t even race against one another? Vernon ran down Hudson Smith…a blind man can see that, lol.

@@stevie586Well technically, Vernon was ahead throughout like the first 130-150m and then until Hudson-Smith ran past him. It wasn't like Hudson-Smith was ahead from the get go and Vernon took him down...but i do get what you're saying...Vernon did a good job on him especially in that last 100.

@@GG-xx9ep no, he was not, actually. They were on a Stagger and Hudson-Smith was always ahead because he got his Baton first. You cannot go by how it looks on the stagger. Vernon ran faster than him…that’s what totally blows my mind! I would never think Vernon was even close to his speed.

If Quincy Hall, was it injured, this 4 x 400 would have been obliterated. This dude runs 42 split 400 relay. I was expecting him on the first leg, and right on the last.

No, if some of these other countries had the facilities (plus a larger pool of atlethes from HS and college to draw from) and funding, there wouldn't be a dominance in the 400. Look at what tiny Jamaica has done with a population of about 3 million (as opposed to 400 million for the US).
@susiepace21252 ай бұрын
@@Ayinde65 I am glad you brough this topic up. How many of these athletes from Foreign countries come to the United States and train and run at our public and private Universities? The list is crazy. So, before you go bumping your lips about not having facilities, let's be clear, you use our programs, come over to our country and train, and so forth. But, here is where it works for your countries. You don't have a QUALITY or Existing PEDS program. Hence, why some of these countries athletes are running fast times. LOL
@yozkopf3000Ай бұрын
The fastest split time in history was 42.91s by Michael Johnson in 1993. Quincy Hall never ever ran a sub 43s split time nor did Quincy Hall ran faster in the 400 m single than Michael Johnson's 43.18s former wr.

So what was Rai Benjamin”s shocking truth? That’s the reason I clicked on the link…

Exactly. I hate click bait. This deserves a thumbs down and a "do not recommend this channel".

If you’re gonna be really anal about it, one must point out Tebogo ran a faster split than Rai, unfortunately not fast enough to catch him.

No the man of the games is ALWAYS the winner of the 100m final. You saw the build up to it. Its the PREMIER moment in all of track and field. NOAH LYLES is the man for the next 4 years.

@@fender1000100exactly. So sick of the blatant anti Americanism on these forums. Noah had to run heats for both 100m and 200m and still got bronze while being sick. Tebogo prepared for one race and people act like he is the second coming

Tebogo is the breakout star, an unexpected gold. If Lyles was healthy, it would have been close. Tebogo’s mistake was running too hard in the 4x400 qualifying round, he said above he was feeling it in the final.
