Some quick facts about Jungle Jim's from somebody who lives in the area. 1. Jim is his actual name. He created the supermarket and kept making additions to it over the years. 2. He did indeed purchase the monorail trains from Kings Island for $1.00. I believe he purchased 10 of the original trains for that $1.00. The ride was a Safari Monorail with enclosed air conditioned trains that snaked around the land now occupied by Banshee, Orion, and Flight of Fear. Yes there were animals in the safari. 3. There are actually 2 Jungle Jim's locations. Shawn and Charlotte were at the Fairfield location. There is one at Eastgate about 20 miles away from that one. 3. The Antique Cars you see at the beginning of the video were also from the original ride at Kings Island. There were 2 sides to that ride. Les Taxis and Ohio Overland Livery or something like that. That land is now occupied by the Backlot Stunt roller coaster. 4. You didn't see it in the video but on the other side of the building, there is the monorail station where the trains are and a storage shed. 5. The bumper cars were indeed from Coney Island. This Cincy park was very famous in the 1900's in the US but since it was located next to the Ohio River it kept getting flooded. This WAS the major reason that Gary Wachs and the team at Coney Island decided to create a new theme park that later became Kings Island. 6. Yes....Jim does LOVE KINGS ISLAND and theme parks in general.

That elvis is actually a believed lost animatronic. it came from a defunct kids play place like the old Chucky cheese. There are only seven known examples of this exact animatronic out there and five are found already. you are look at a very rare piece of history there. This particular one was rebuilt from metal and was given a new audio track. its nice to see at least someone is looking out for these animatronics.

Buc-ees got it's start in Texas. It probably explains why it is so large wherever they place a location. Everything truly is larger in Texas. The Kentucky location they visited is less than 2 years old. Currently many of the new locations they are opening in the States including the one near Dollywood in that general area have at least 120 gas pumps which is absolutely CRAZY when you see that many. The RESTROOMS are literally the cleanest you will ever find. They actually win awards for their restrooms and take pride in this facet of this crazy chain. It's basically a Wallmart combined with a gas station with an unholy amount of gas pumps and a beaver mascot.

38:11 The Ferris wheel was actually part of a fireworks store. Several years ago, the fireworks store blew up and burned down to the ground sadly. At least no one has come and gotten the Ferris wheel out. I think I stopped at that fireworks store when I was a kid and my grandparents lived in Tennessee back in the day decades ago, but never bought anything there.

33:23 That is the meal number calling the customer over the PA System stating that their food is ready. Pilot and Love's Travel Centers are somewhat similar to Bucee's, but there is a catch. No semi trucks allowed at Bucee's, unlike Pilot and Love's. So Bucee's have the cleanest bathrooms, but no showers onsite.

FYI Food is not taxable unless you're in a restaurant and it's prepared hot🔥. Example, anything in Buc-ee's is not taxable unless it's fast food prepared. Everything you buy at Walmart, Target etc. fruit, vegetables, juice, candy no tax. This applies to theme parks as well. Candy snacks bottled Coke/Pepsi is not taxed, however, some states charge a recycle fee on the plastic bottle usually $.05
@3melbaby Жыл бұрын
That depends upon the state about taxing. In Georgia everything is taxed.
@oscarmorris6736 Жыл бұрын
@@3melbaby you are correct, however, Buc-ee's skirts a Interstate, all businesses skirting federally funded and maintained interstate's or highways are subject to federal tax guidelines not state or local

When you said you were staying near the airport in Atlanta I said to my wife we stayed near the airport and if I recall it was a Ramada Inn the same one as you albeit in 1995. I’ve really enjoyed these travel vlogs. Makes me want to go back and rewatch your West Coast travel vlogs. The lane that you were referring to in Atlanta was actually the HOV lane. The HOV lane is a bit different than the express lane. The HOV lane is normally called the carpool lane and it’s for cars with more than one person riding in them. You can actually get a ticket if you are driving in the HOV lane as a solo rider.

I think the Turnpike Service plazas in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut (maybe a few other states still have full service areas instead of just pull offs for truckers and to use the toilets, but its mainly those 3) may forestall Northeast expansion of Buc-cee's. Where these have closed is perfect. Maybe they could revamp some old/borderline abandoned areas around I-81 in Pennsylvania or elsewhere

Nice and good vlog, really enjoyed and look forward for more in the future. Nice themed shopping supermarket with loads of good theming. Maybe with monorail, could we see maybe rollercoasters and rides in future added here? Think would be quite epic, have his supermarket become a theme park come supermarket. Be epic could go theme park riding all day and do your shopping afterwards or go shopping, go home and return & ride some coasters & attractions? Be epic few additions there if added new rides at that supermarket. Would 100% be epic & attract more people to that location at least I think? Is that something you would both add in the attraction idea in future? Alongside history would you build a supermarket? Themed around rollercoasters, rides? As an addition to it? Be quite helpful and ideal I think if you did that or if not could have as souvenir shop themed & featuring all historical rides, attractions and park props? Just an idea, but nice vlog, really did enjoy the journey and look forward for more vlogs like this in future. 😀👍
