13:03 Jane Wiedlin! Loved this song, and I always felt justified when I was reading a year-end 1985 music review, and for “Should Have Been a Bigger Hit” they named “Blue Kiss”. Still remember that. I could never figure out why “Through the Fire” (Chaka Kahn) wasn’t more popular. I remember my local station playing it quite a bit.

Thanks Francis! This edition made me searching to find the number of singles of some popular EU performers that charted in the US in the 80's. The results were quite shocking: Alphaville - 2, peak at #65, Alison Moyet - 2, peak at #31, Marillion - 1, peak at #74, Depeche Mode -7, peak at 13, the rest between #28 - #87.

Thank you for the video! The US chart seems to be a tough cookie to crack as there are some gems in these lower rankers. I'm surprised Bon Jovi were not big from the start as 'Only Lonely' is fantastic rock ballad with an excellent video. I prefer this to some of their big hits!

I wasn't sure what I just saw during the Belouis Some - Imagination clip...so I double-checked it with the song's full uncut version and it definitely confirmed what I thought I was seeing, ha.

A lot big artists on their way down, especially in the first half of this video. And I forgot how adorable Maria McKee was.

This video was suggested and I watched it. I love compilation videos, especially of 80’s music. One small suggestion though please.. Maybe a different font and color of the artist/song title. Some of them I could barely read.

Dokken 😍Deep Purple 😍Triumph 😍Marillion 😍Los Lobos 😍Donnie Iris 😍Slade 😍Lone Justice 😍The Hooters😍Tom Petty 😍 George Thorogoos 😍Til Tuesday 😍Survivor 😍The Romantics 😍Ratt 😍Mötley Crüe 😍 The Motels 😍Loverboy 😍INXS 😍 Autrement, fait intéressant; certains chanteurs ont réussi aussi bien en solo qu'en groupe: John Waite (ex-The Babys et futur Bad English), Eric Carmen (ex-Raspberries), Peter Wolf (ex-J. Geils Band), Eric Martin (futur Mr. Big), Tommy Shaw (Styx, Damn Yankees). Il y a aussi des titres moins connus (par le grand public) de Bon Jovi, Toto, Foreigner, Alan Parsons Project, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Christopher Cross, mais qui valent le détour.

There were some hidden gems along with some songs that either became big hits when preformed by a different artist or were just total stinkers.

most of this songs aren't that great, there is a good reason why they are mostly forgotten and didn't chart higher the sad thing today's top charters are much much worse than this

I never understood American music, I mean, Big in Japan was a hit in 1984 in the Netherlands, while Tonight from Tina and bowie was a hit in 1988/1989 in the netherlands?
