I didn’t even think about this until I did the math but it really does lol. If I make three 3s, and you make three 2s. You can still even it with a 3, one possession game. But if I make three 2s, and you make three 1s. It’s now a two possession game.

Jimmer!! this one was way more of a team effort, very solid team overall - fundamentals especially, madox is the exception with some noticeable athleticism and size - I'm still worried how they are gonna do against a more physical / taller / faster team (basically better genetics). Jimmer especially is a great example of someone who could have been way more if he was say? 6,4? but at 6,2 and on the slower side compared to nba players - he got dealt a bad hand, otherwise he could have compensated bad shooting nights with other things. Lebron would not be as successful as he is if he wasn't a genetic monster with very lucky health, Shaquille wouldn't be as dominant as he was if he was smaller say 6,8 - Dirk wouldn't have had such a deadly almost unblockable fadeaway if he wasn't 7,0 .. could go on. This is also why Jimmer could dominate in leagues like China, it takes away the insane genetics and is more raw focused on solely skill - we see few asians come to the league since few are genetic exceptions (yao ming) or are skilled enough to shine despite genetic disavantage (jeremy lin).

the rules in fiba 3x3 are a damn joke. always have been. no idea why they are not making any changes. also that they do not get the ball up top once someone scored. there is a lot of things wrong with this format as it is right now. it could be so much better but sloppy rules are holding it back, and probaby low financial incentives for the players. this could be a huge sport if the framework was right.

I love Jimmer but this game confirms why he’s not in the NBA. Great Shooters are rare (of which he is one) good defenders are just as rare and great defenders are the rarest. He gives up equal points and is a liability against bigs. FYI: he’d trash 99.9999% of those commenting here defensively and 100% scoring; I being the weakest of all.
