9.5 -minus 0.5 for poor finishing. we should have scored 3 at least.
@alexpeters80382 ай бұрын
8.5 for me. First half was a 9 only thing holding it from a 10 was finishing. Than 2nd half was good but wasn’t quite as good so therefore giving it a 8. Average the half’s out and it comes to a 8.5

I absolutely agree - Jonathan David's best attribute is his ELITE counter-pressing ability. Could potentially be in the worlds best-11 in that category. Marsch is the perfect manager for him.

As a disgruntled USMNT fan I was hoping that Jesse Marsh could defeat us just to prove a point about having rehired GGG and his flaccid system. I never wanted to get embarrassed like that. Great coach CANMNT definitely has a bright future. My only concern is that Marsh has trouble adapting to adversity his plan b seems to be do plan A harder. He’s had some time to grow since Leeds and I wish you guys the best of luck. Keep moving forward so that our programs can grow stronger as a result of some healthy competition.

Always love your analysis. My main takeaway and also to be honest we played a friendly vs an opponent in dissaray and missing coach as well as key players. So for me it's more learning who we are as we build towards 2026. 3 takeaways: 1) Ali Ahmed will be a major part of this team. 2) Choiniere provides an amazing breath of fresh air for midfield depth 3) Bombito once he gets more pro games under his belt will be a MASSIVE anchor in back for next 3 World Cups

I'm English so don't really have a dog in this fight, but I saw the game, what I saw was a Canada team that wanted it and a US team that seemed to be complacent, the US got lucky that it was only 2-1, in terms of talent I'd say the US are slightly more talented as a team overall but it's international football, talent alone isn't enough, (im English ive seen England show that my whole life) I can't call Canada no.1 in CONCACAF until they start winning trophies, but based of that match Canada will be winning trophies if the US let the complacency fester, it was a deserved win for Canada

Big picture? Canada was dominant for most of the match. It should have been 4 or 5 nil for us. I don't give a fcuk about US excuses. Missing a coach? Coach doesn't play. Missing key players? Well no Kone, Adekugbe, Buchanan, Bair for us. Why downplay the result? US goal was well offside. No VAR and a linesman who was expecting VAR to do his job for him. Back four were really strong. Bombito and Cornelius recovered quickly on any attempt over the top and Davies, AJ and Laryea swept up anything the CB's didn't deal with directly. Eustaquio and Choiniere bossed the midfield. Ahmed and Schaffelburg were great on the press and in driving the touch line to force US back four out wide. David and Larin created chances. Only issue was our finishing. Would like to see this Croatian kid in at CM against Mexico. Would be great if he could add to depth behind Eustaquio, Kone and Choiniere. Osorio getting a bit old to play more that 15 minutes plus effectively in this system. A similar effort on Tuesday against Mexico is a must have!

I was watching the ESPN post game show, and the whole time they were just complaining about how bad the U.S. team were, and the whole management of the team has been questionable. They barely gave Canada any credit for the win. When asked if Canada is the best team in CONCACAF right now, commentator Alejandro Moreno finally agreed that Canada is, but not before some painful mental gymnastics about how they aren`t, but they play the best together and are well coached... you can tell it was painful for Alejandro to say that because he doesn`t acknowledge the talent that Canada actually has. In the end, Canada doesn`t get the respect it deserves, just like the bozos at FIFA that rank Canada at #40 while the U.S. a top 20 team. Really?

@structuredcmlandclearingex38432 ай бұрын
Lmao. Last competitive match we dominated you, also without Berhalter. Only CANMNT fans think you’re world beaters for winning a friendly.
I hate how Canadians try to put themselves down even when they are clearly better, if I weren’t following North American football, I would have thought that Canada hasn’t beaten the us in like a half a century. They literally beat them multiple times in the last 4 to 5 years it just happened that it didn’t happen on US soil

Not what Marsch said. He stated after the game that late game leads were not addressed up to the time of the Uruguay game. This team was in a position that they have never encountered so far. They will learn and adapt. This team has lots of room to grow as they’ve already grown in many areas compared to previous managers over the past 30 years (or more.) Cheers
