Not really. Their hockey team didn't respect ours until 1980

I fought Ruslan Tamarov, in 1990, One week before, the Mike Tyson was knocked out by Buster Douglas! We were in Tokyo, Japan! The significance of our fight, was it was, it was the first time, the Soviet Union, was allowed to turn professional fighters!

If this was in the modern day the russian would be accused of steroid use. Disgracefull whenever an american gets rekt he blames steroids, grow a pair and accept defeat like a man.

How do you know? American media told you? You realize everything America and Russia say about each other is complete propoganda right? They are sworn enemies and will hate each other for ever. It dosen't mean theor atheletes should be dragged into it, but people like you make it hard not to mix politics with sports. Think about what I told you and open your eyes, you dont have to swallow propoganda.

I know a lot of Russian athletes who use steroids. Of course they are going to milk the situation, but you can't deny Russians are number one, when It comes down to steroid use. Don't get me wrong I love the Russians but It's a fact.

The announcer states that the "defensive" skills of the Soviet athletes impressed him. What "defensive" skills? Look like the Soviets were employing their "typical" style. Now correct me if I am wrong but the Soviet style was the classic European stand-up style. It appears that this style was "'universal" for this particular team. Later I did notice that they had more "variation" in their styles. Not so much "stereotyped".

Tony Iacomi nope...What’s that ... other than another American phrase, drench in inferiority complex and victim mentality. Both black and white Americans need to be more confident in themselves as individuals 👌👌

@@jurgenforster8314 What are you kidding me? Americans are the most confident people in the world. That's why America is at the top of the global hierarchy. Its something black Americans say about white boxers.

Karltural Marx I think he meant to say Americans are oblivious to things. That’s why with their insane ideology of imposed democracy in the form of colonialism and military imperialism they somehow find themselves in the top. At the expense of others 😭😭😭. Not to virtue signal as my country isn’t any better than theirs and we have a lot of skeletons in the closet.

Mikhail Bezpalko white Americans can’t fight like black Americans. So basically Soviet white or white-Asian boxers were battering African-American boxers who are naturally strong.

@@gurin23 Depends. White Americans can't box like black Americans. And that's simply because not many whites go into boxing. Boxing is a poor man's sport in the US. Less than 1% of white Americans box. Over 20% of blacks have boxed at some point in their lives.
@gurin23

@@tonyiacomi4822 Yeah that’s true though. Surely if there would be more whites training then more out of them would turn into pros and more quality fighters would come out of the bunch entered pros. Today among all the white boxers of America I have Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman (half white / black), Joe Smith Jr., Canelo (Mexican though), Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, Mikey Garcia, Jessie Vargas, I mean yeah majority of these white belong to the Latino / Hispanic group of whites but they’re still white. Joe Smith Jr. is the only one who is of an English or Irish descendants, not too sure. There’re plenty of whites who box in America, even Justin Bieber did it 😂
