Yeah, it sucks, but "hate" is a strong word. I miss the iconic TF-39 sound too (a lot), but I still love the aircraft. As for those who performed the engine refit, they were only doing their jobs that was as a result of the Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program (RERP). The program replaced the engines with newer, more powerful ones that were also more efficient. But the C-5 without the TF-39s is like a person with a vocal chord transplant.
