HPSP from COT 06-05. I don’t regret a single second of my time - I went into emergency medicine, and still love it.

A flight of...twelve. As a second lieutenant about forty years ago, commanded a flight of eighty, and knew second lieutenants in other places who commanded flights of many more. Looks like everyone had fun, my best to these doctors and nurses.

Awesome video regarding OTS! I’m a prior enlisted Sailor. Looking to go Army WOFT or Air Force OTS, eyeing the Pilot option for both. Maybe, I’ll also consider becoming either a Navigator or ABM in the Air Force. Looking to submit my packets for both, although I gotta take the AFOQT for the 2nd time. Thanks for this!

All the videos ive seen of ots seem so laid back, its interesting to see another side of entry level training.

Yep keep in mind we are only allowed to record certain parts of the training! So the more social fun times are typically what’s shown🙂

do you have to be fit i can barely do a push-up . also someone once said that if you can't do half a mile run or a push up then they will take you out.
@TheAlsoArchives2 жыл бұрын
Hey yes you do need to have some baseline level of fitness. At the very least being somewhat fit will give you a leg up when it comes time for PT testing. I practiced push ups, sit ups and the run almost every day for months leading up to OTS.

Hi, I graduated from 2021. Unfortunately I haven’t found my footing with what I want to do. Until recently I would like to apply to OTS. Would it be too late for me to apply for the 2023 year, even after 2 years out from graduating my undergrad? I believe I missed the deadline /:
@TheAlsoArchives2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I am not to familiar with the process to apply for OTS outside of the HPSP program for medical students. I would suggest contacting your local recruiter to inquire about the process ! Best of luck

Do HPSP recipients go through the standard officer training or is it a separate training school that is more summed up? There's not many people on here that talk about the training. I'm just trying to be more prepared and know what to expect. Thank you!
@TheAlsoArchives3 жыл бұрын
Hey! HPSP students do a 5 week Officer training program vs the 8 week program for other non HPSP Officer trainees. So our program was more accelerated but we do most of the same activities!

Hey! I say it’s never too early to meet with a recruiter. The earlier the better. I was in contact with my recruiter at least 6 months to a year prior to my application.

Were you forced to get the COVID vaccine? Also, did you have to take ASVAB? Last but not least, did you shower in the presence of other females and did you have your own room? Thanks in advance.
@TheAlsoArchives2 жыл бұрын
Hey! The vaccine was not required at the time that I went but now it is required. ASVAB was not required for me because I commissioned under the HPSP scholarship for medical school. I am not sure if it is required in general to go to OTS. We were assigned 2 to a room but that was due to COVID restrictions. Typically there are 4 to a room with one shared restroom and shower. Hopefully this is helpful!

Hello Shanon, am glad I found this video I am interested in HPSP program. Do you have any advice and what I can do to make the application process smooth? Do you have TikTok or Ig for more questions? I will appreciate your advice. Thank you
@TheAlsoArchives2 жыл бұрын
Sure my IG is @docalso. My best advice would be to reach out to current students and hear their perspectives on the program (like you are already doing!) and find a recruiter that can help answer more of the logistical questions along the way. The application process is somewhat tedious so you have to stay on top of things to get it done ! I would love to answer any specific questions you may have! Also my email is alsoarc@gmail.com
