@@apollo4619 , I disagree. Like I wrote before - some women (a very little number) can kick and outperform men physically, but the biology is merciless: when it comes to war and fight in extreme environments, just imagine a woman having period - she’d be done within a few days. Even a jet fighter - what if she has to catapult herself in enemy lines? A woman can be a great fighter, no doubts. But wars are for men.

Women currently and have been in the field for months at a time since like the 1980's... there is TP wipes in the MRE's for a reason. Everything you tried to make a point on has been proven wrong. Like I said before if a woman can hack it and meet the standards in physical and job proficiency then why shouldn't they be allowed in combat? Your cousin....A true hero. SAAAALUUUUUUTTTTE! My father was a door gunner/ 1st Cavalry. 65-67, Vietnam war. He wasn't an acclaimed "Rambo" but Survived 2 helicopter crashes and lived. Had endless nightmares of a chopper going down or the faces that were on the other end of the his constant strafes and sweeping motions...monkey slinging from one door to the other. Agent Orange ate him alive eventually passing in 97. He was such a peaceful, loving and honorable man. Your cousin certainly was a true, natural warrior and most likely a wonderful and peaceful man as well. Truly. Never ever forget, good friend. God bless you.

It's the perfect way to 1) weed out the SMs who shouldn't be there; 2) provide a baseline to newly assigned SMs; 3) Instills the NSDQ attitude. I'd be remiss if I didn't give all the 160th NCO's that has invested time & energy into making GP what it is today their acknowledgement!! NSDQ!! Maaan... back when I was stationed in ft C, there were folks that gave out recruitment stitches in front of our company a few times. I always wondered what I would have trained in if I was interested in that path. It's really cool to see this. I wish I would have when I was in. I wise what would happen if a video like this was given on a business card to us during that time and we got to check it out. Most of those times we got those speeches were Friday formation when most of us really just wanted to go unwind. Maybe if e had a cool KZbin video to introduce us after we get to the barracks it would really in some more interest? I dunno... things have probably changed a bunch since I was in.

For about a year and a half before I ETS'd we were trying to fill my job by trying to recruit from the 101st and straight out of AIT. Most of the guys we talked to weren't interested because they'd spent half of their Army career deployed, and were happy just chilling. Recruitment was difficult because regiment demands A LOT and around 2008-2012, soldiers were burnt out from multiple deployments. Hard to blame any of them, big army life was tough in the mid 2000's. But in the end, life in regiment was something I wouldn't have traded for any other assignment.

@@patrickstoute7607 I’m trying to get it signed into my contract, any tips to mentally prepare myself? As I’m still in highschool and have some time to prepare.

@@jacobwilson8243 yes, be willing to work with others. Understand everyone may share a different viewpoint but know how to work well with opposing opinions. Cardio is BIG, make sure u taking time out of your day to run and build up your endurance. I’m not really sure how to tell someone “how to mentally prepare for EGP”, if it’s something you really want to do, then you pure “WILL” will carry you on throughout the course. good luck bro and NSDQ!

I heard way back in the day you had to be specially selected, when 160th was much smaller and tight-nit. Now it's grown, and you can sometimes be picked up straight outa AIT or simply drop a packet once you're in the regular army. There are 160th recruiters.
