Great video! However, I cannot find the device anymore... do you think this mod is possible with a different module?

I’ve been thinking about internally mounting the antenna to make it more portable and maybe installing shorter switches. Do you think moving the antenna would affect the range?

It just may. I'm not sure I recommend trying it.

I tried checking the documentation about this board but Bangood didn't seem to provide one. If I were to use this to charge a 2s Lipo in a QX7, would this board balance charge the battery if the middle battery connector was wired to the 1S pad? Or is that pad only for charging 1S batteries? Like, for your setup, could you put a piece of foil (that's connected to the 1S pad) between your 18650 batteries and use the board to balance charge your batteries? The documentation that BG does list does say the word "Balancing" once, but doensn't mention how that would work. The board itself does appear to have two charging circuits, and the attached IC would handle the switching. Any info or insight you may have would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing myself. If you see two charging circuits then it very well might do as it says. I imagine the 1S would go between the batteries as you suggest. I thought about inserting something between the batteries, but for this application charging in series is good enough. At least you can monitor the overall voltage with the radio to get a clue if a cell is dying.

There is a pin hole with a 5V label next to the lower right corner of the main processor unit, is it possible to get the 5V power source from here instead of the one you show in the video???
@whiffles5 жыл бұрын
I do not know. You can plug a USB cable in and test it for voltage. I only used this capacitor because I was instructed to. Let me know if you find voltage there.

I think it was just a small phillips head.

Question. Why did you solder the wires onto only one side of the through holes rather than soldering the wire into the holes from the opposite side as it was designed to be soldered?
@whiffles4 жыл бұрын
I just find it a little easier to solder to them as if they were pads.

After doing the mod my coputer doesnt recognize the X9 as Joystick or USB drive🥺 It charges also it shows the selector for drive or joystick also the pc gives a connection sound but says: unknown device !!!! Any help? Does it work for you?
@whiffles5 жыл бұрын
When the radio is on and you plug in do you get the menu asking to use Joystick/USB drive mode? It should give you a choice.

I just tested mine on my Macbook Pro and it worked as a joystick as well as a USB drive. Could it be a driver issue?
@jas-FPV5 жыл бұрын
Yes it gives me the menu asking if I want joystick or drive. I tried another computer and windows says the attached device draws too much current. So if it works for you I screwed smth or I failed doing the update to the latest version of opentx. Or there is a bug in there. I m not sure but pretty certain I tried it after doing the mod and it worked
@whiffles5 жыл бұрын
@@jas-FPV I can't imagine there's much you can do to flub this up. It just draws power from the USB and sends it to the battery. Did it work before the mod? I did get the "draws too much current" error one time but after unplugging and plugging back in it didn't give me that error. That does concern me slightly though. One other idea is to check the main configuration menu to make sure the joystick feature is turned on.

FrSky hasn't released hall sensor gimbals that fit yet. I tried the M7 gimbals, but they're too big.
