@@yampanda if you read the manga you know that Asahi's is probably the saddest and harshest ****Manga Spoiler**** Expecially since Daichi and Suga knew that he was always putting all the blame on himself, thinking that he had to be the worst player ever, with an "end-of-the-world face" something like 50 times per game (if I remember right that's what Daichi said). Still, they never tried to do anything about it Edit: I just remembered that Asahi then said that he felt like that time was the first time that he actually saw the court, but that means that he couldn't see it up till then. What Hinata and any other player felt when they had "a tall wall looming on them" was Asahi's standard, so when he felt like a wall was looming on him anyone else would just feel completely trapped, unable to move in the slightest. The same wall that freaked out Hinata is what Asahi considered to be normal, and if this isn't heartbreaking nothing else is

Aone is literally a teddy bear. He’s got Asahi syndrome where people think he’s a lot more scary or intimidating than he actually is. He’s got Hinata level of love for volleyball, so they get along really well. Unfortunately, it comes across as a lot more intense than our 5’4” sunshine child. One of his main concerns listed on his character profile is how much room he takes up on the bus. He’s so self conscious of his height outside of volleyball, poor baby.

Hello Victoria! I have been watching your channel since before you started watching Haikyuu and I've seen every single one of your training/teaching videos. May I just say how amazing you are and that your Haikyuu reactions are always hype! BTW, for the Japanese Names, a good rule of thumb is to read them as they are spelled. So Aone would be Ah-Oh-Neh, Date Tech is Dah-Teh Tech. They usually don't have long vowel sounds unless they literally use double vowels, e.g. Haikyuu which is read as hike-you. I hope this helps in the future as you will meet a lot of compelling characters.

this is imo one of the most important episodes in the series, simply because its the epitome of Karasuno's team identity in action. Noya Daichi and Tsukki on defense, Tanaka and Asahi on offense, and Kageyama and Hinata keeping the opponents guessing and off balance, making everyone else's job easier. This is the big game against a powerhouse school, and they are perfectly executing their game plan. beautiful pay off for all the hard work up to this point.

Ah yes, those details are the ones that make me happy Spanish is my first language... most of the sounds are exactly the same as you would read normally in Spanish. Then again, English is a mess in the sense that it has a looooot of vowels but only five in the alphabet :'). So you're left guessing sometimes. Funny, because Japanese pronunciation is pretty straightforward. One of the principal exceptions I'd say is the syllables with "u" that go mid-word, which are actually pretty faint in comparison. If you've ever heard how Naruto, Sasuke, Katsuki, etc, are pronounced, you know what I mean, probably XD in hq I can only think Yamaguchi rn, maybe Azumane.

In english the vowels are usually pronounced as A- Ey I - ay O - Ow E - ee U - yu But in japanese it's usually Ah Ih Oh Eh Uuu
@magacofi3 жыл бұрын
@@alhaitham.s yeah pretty much Something I find quite useful though, is using the phonetic thing for the vowels, you know, for example, to know it's the "a" from the alphabet the translator writes «ā», and if it's the "ah" as you put it, it's just «a». A shame people don't usually explain it that way, I assume not everyone knows XD in my case I do because of how much I've used the translator to hear/read pronunciations :p

You truly are reawakening my love for this series. I read like 200 chapters in a few days and I cried like 20 times. Can’t wait for you to reach the emotional stuff

I would love to see a video on how to receive tape balls! Especially with a frequent problem I encounter where it falls short and I can’t tell if I should count on the front row player who’s near it to get it or if I should dive for it anyways. I feel like I’ll get in the way 😭

YESSSS ITS TUESDAY! And liking the opposing team is something that Haikyuu is so good at making you feel - though I will remain a Karasuno stan. Love your explanation about the blocks and how it gave you an appreciation for them! (omg the victoria version of the water bottle commercial is so cute!)

Asahi's "I'm still the Ace" moments are my favorite lol
@wiilittlegirl3 жыл бұрын
This is one of my favorite episodes. That moment when Asahi appears behind Hinata with that light in the background and that music and his reaction to realizing what it felt like to see the other side of the court, it's just so powerful I legitimately tear up every time. Like I've watched this series like 4 times and it still hits me in the feels as hard as the first time I watched it. I can't describe it well but this show does such a good job of just getting you in the feels, man. I feel so inspired and I feel so much vicarious triumph. Let's give it up for the director, animators, and the music composers of this anime. It really does the manga justice and just elevates the haikyuu story and experience. Also, I just want to say I don't comment very often. I like being under the radar and not sticking out when it comes to the internet but I have been trying to break my lurky silence to give credit where it's due and show my appreciation for the creators I love. I feel like if I compliment people and actually voice my admiration, it will make someone else do the same and start a positivity train of sorts. Haha Victoria, you are truly inspiring and so much fun to watch. It brings me so much joy to see you enjoying a series that us weebs have been singing the praises of for a long time. lol You give a great perspective as a volleyball player and you're incredibly perceptive when watching. I personally appreciate how often you pause to voice whatever comes to your head. I can imagine how hard it must be to actually react and make it entertaining for an audience while also focusing on absorbing what's going on. I'm not judging how people make their content or anything, but it makes me a little sad when I see people miss details just because they were distracted or talking over it. You are very present when you watch and it's nice to see you are invested! Your insight is great and I find myself getting a lot out of your talks despite not being an athlete. You just give good advice in general and your love for the sport is really infectious. So yeah idk thanks for being cool. Haha Also total side note, but I'm so glad you like the subtitled version. Even if you can't understand Japanese, I feel like it's important to hear the intent and emotion behind the original voices. Japanese is such a cool language and has a lot of idiosyncrasies that can be hard to pick up if you're not exposed to it a lot. (I've been studying it for multiple years and I have a linguistics degree and I still kinda suck at it. Haha) But despite that, you can hear the emotion in their voice and hear the feeling and message of what they're saying even if you can't necessarily understand the content without subtitles. Anime has an incredibly robust culture surrounding voice actors and they are all very much professionals. It takes a lot of training to do some of the things these voice actors do (I've even read some Phonetics papers examining the techniques they employ to get certain affects with their voice) and I feel like the English dubs aren't quite as attuned to the material or at the caliber that most Japanese voice actors are at. I am by no means a subtitle elitist. Good English dubs definitely do exists, and there are a lot of really talented English voice actors that I love, but more often than not, the Japanese version has a higher quality when it comes to the acting. It's just a product of the fact that anime is more popular in it's country of origin obviously and I feel like there's a lot more opportunity to emphasize the quality of performance of a Japanese voice actor just by virtue of understanding and being a part of the culture that the source material comes from. It's probably easier to get that vision across just by being Japanese and acting in Japanese for a Japanese piece of media if that makes sense. Whereas to fully convert all those pieces into English, it's just one more degree away from the vision of the original. That's how I see it at least. That being said, I understand the plethora of reasons one might prefer dubs. Let's be civil and live and let live even if subs are clearly superior *coughs* haha jk but do I love to see people appreciate the Japanese voice actors. Ok thanks for reading my unnecessarily long comment. Love y'all, my haikyuu fam. lol

The outside commentary is one of the best parts about Haikyuu. I haven't watched all the sports anime, but from those that I have seen, haikyuu has the best exposition in terms of giving enough information in a short amount of time, and in such an streamline organic way.

What I love about Victoria's reaction videos (compared to other volleyball players reacting to them) is her sheer enthusiasm and ability to give her viewers a deeper insight into the show and she cares so much about the characters. I tried watching some other KZbinr's reaction videos and they just felt so bleh and monotone. But you can feel Victoria's emotions coming through the screen and it makes me remember the first time I watched the series. It's like when you watch a show with your best friend sitting next to you and you've seen the show but your friend hasn't and so you keep turning to them to watch their reactions when you know a good part is coming lol

The great thing about Haikyuu is that every position/action (even outside support) is given so much attention that it shows that volleyball is really a team sport that every component is important and essential.

I'm going to take a 8 hour long on saturday, and i told myself to save last week's reaction and this one too, so i can have something to entertain myself with during the flight, but hearing the start of the video and the comment from your future self is just making me want to watch it now 😣 (Btw, don't worry about singing the Dateko chant, we all do it)

this is i think really the episode that solidified Karasuno's concept of play, to run multiple attackers and changing tempos constantly to keep the defense one step behind, which only really works because of Hinata's speed and Kageyama's precise tossing and what i love about this series is that no one's concept is really right or the best play, it's simply the one that works best with their playstyle, like Date Tech's style of serving and blocking works because of Aone's build and reflexes. It's really cool seeing these battles of concepts!!!
