Those USC Teams under Pete Carroll, I don’t think ever fully got the respect they deserved. One because they played on the West coast, so most of their games were late and two because the Pac-10 at the time wasn’t the strongest at the time, outside a few teams. Those USC Teams had athletes and the ‘08 USC defense might be one of the most underrated defenses of all time.

Not one time during the Pete era did the BCSEC allow any top tier sec team to play USC whether in ooc play or bowl season. Florida would’ve gotten smashed in the NCG against this SC squad no doubt. This game was a memorial of the Oklahoma Orange Bowl in ‘04 😂😂😂

It actually happened 4 times: 2002 and 2003 USC vs Auburn. 2005 and 2006 USC vs Arkansas. All were USC wins, including 2 road wins. Carroll was 4-0 vs the SEC during his tenure.
