Branch was on paper the exciting dynamic receiver but in reality Lemon has shown and proven to be that guy.

Same with Duce Robinson. Lane was really the big body red zone threat that Duce should’ve been. Both Branch and Robinson on paper where the were ranked recruits but Lemon and Lane were the true dogs that made more plays when it counted. If USC had to lose two and retain two in the WR group. This was best case scenario.

Stop it. Longstreet isn’t starting for a few years. Don’t set unrealistic expectations. The last time USC had a true freshman QB in JT Daniels they went 5-7. Go around the country and look how recent 5-star true freshman QBs performed in their first season. Whether Dylan Raiola, Jackson Arnold, Cade Klubnik, Dante Moore none of them lit it up as true freshman 5-star QBs. If your program has to start a true freshman QB you’re in a bad state.

I do feel sorry for a team that ends their season with a Bowl loss but that is inevitable for one team in each game. However, I am happy for the USC team and their coaching staff as for the past several weeks they have been dismissed but the team that showed up today was one that was resilient and opportunistic offering promise for next season. It is good for College Football if both these programs have good seasons in future years.

Winning this game means very little for the season. Does SC want to keep "playing" in the LV bowl every year? Riley has to "CHANGE". QB JM thru pic after pic but SC still won, because of defense, RB Jackson and Peterson. Yes, the receiving (Lemon/Lane) did the job they've been doing, granted. But, would it be reasonable to say that since certain personnel didn't elect to play SC was force to play 2nd stringers? And in winning this game, does that mean the better players didn't not play during the regular season? This was by far their best game overall played during the season. If they played this type running game against the their losing schedule, boy oh boy, what a difference it could've made. And this romance with chasing after a Heisman type QB is unrealistic: it guarantees you nothing (i.e. Colorado U). And the "portal" adds to the risk of bringing in players who won't stay, if your program hits the skids, or the "NIL" looks better elsewhere. Strong HS recruiting, defense, a strong running game, and for god stakes bring back the Tight Ends and you'll gets a shot at the CFP, period. And the last lesson learned last night, "play" the freshman, reduce the "red shirts", please. And if don't believe me, go ask "Pete". Semper Fi0311
