Love this chart. I also love how the haters just can't stay away. It's the same tired argument that being buddy buddy ass kissers with the opposing band is the "adult" thing to do. We all did it in HS. Grow a pair, do your gig and if you really love hanging out with the other band so much, join 'em. In person (I was stand about 6 feet away from the camera person), the TMB had more volume, better intonation, readable articulation, steadier rhythm and better crowd response.

this whole culture is so far detached from th quiet half time pie that you would get in the uk but that was a fantastic performance

If you're tired of hearing Conquest, you should politely ask your team to stop losing.

we were a band or two behind USC in the actual parade. they look real nice in their uniforms... not so much anything else... to be honest USC actually sucks :S after seeing this video of their embarassing soulja boy dance i feel ashamed to have been behind them in the 119th rosebowl parade. the illini band was pretty good, although rumour has it 3 of them dropped. nice people, we shared the same hotel.

Where is the melody? I am playing this song, and the melody is in the cornets/trumpets and saxophones. There is another small melody played by the flutes and clarinets. Brass is too loud, the entire performance is fortissimo and the percussion is too loud. Not very musical, sounds like it needed a good two more weeks to perfect.

Have you ever played in a marching band before? It's a bit different than playing in a concert hall... If you want the people in the top row to hear you and get into it you've got to play LOUD. Brass is your best option there... don't bother giving anything important to a woodwind, no one's gonna hear it. Again, when it comes to marching band it's not about musicality as much as it is about energy and crowd engagement.

@@b34k97 Yes, I was in marching band. And yes, it is possible for a marching band to have musicality. During my youngest brother’s sophomore year, they took home 1st place at every competition because they were in step, they prioritized sounding good, and they brought the energy to the field. It’s possible, if you have a good enough marching band.

well....certainly not the best band out there...where's the blend and balance? brass sounds too bright, however loud they may be.
