QUESTION: Do you keep a trauma kit with you? Where?
@junespiritu32345 жыл бұрын
I have my IFAK/Trauma kit in my car and aside from the tourniquet in my kit I have another tourniquet with me. I am also trained for Prehospital Trauma Life Support.

I have a large trauma kit (no band aids) for serious wounds. Gauze, combat dressings, CAT tourniquets (multiple), that sort of thing. I also have Tactical First Aid training (based on the combat lifesaver training in the military). I keep it in my primary vehicle, so I have it at the range, when I venture into the hills, or out camping. It also goes on the river for rafting trips.

Do you carry it everywhere you go, Lincoln?

I really, really appreciate this Proving Ground training series! We do have a trauma kit as our firing range is outdoors and in a remote location and we take that with us when we go there. We also plan to start up camping again, which we haven't done in years, lol. So this video was an excellent eye opener and great training. Thank you to all who were involved in putting together this training series!

Excellent training. Yes, I have a trauma kit in my range bag car and backpack. Our gun ckub also did training on trauma kit essentials along with hands on training how to use each item in the kit.

USCCA please recommend a emergency trauma pack with the tourniquet that you demonstrated in this training episode. Thank You USCCA, FT

I though, "Marker!? Whaddya need a marker in a 1st Aid kit for?" It's for marking the time on the TQ. Maybe I need that. Usually have a sharpie with me, but not in my 1st Aid kits.

There are definitely a few purposes for a marker, _Surburban_. You can use that marker to mark the time you apply that Tourniquet to keep not of blood loss. It is also good to have to mark the swelling if you get bit by something venomous.

Go video Kevin, very informative. I which this was available to me when I went through a similar event. From here on out, could "The Proving Ground" have its own playlist on the channel?

Walt, I have created that for you. Check it out: kzbin.info/aero/PL8BXy_a3iBjg959mJ6TNuPtGGDKwSflW6

What would have been the best situation he should have grabbed both guns the first time he went in should he have pointed both weapons at the threat or give her one of the weapons and they both point at the threat ?

I'm a person with disabilities I have a bad back n a bed hip I mean I could still walk around but I can't move around fast.. do u have any kind of training for that? or is that in the making for the future?
@USCCAOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, we don't have a Proving Ground Series on this topic yet, Rudy. However, I will gladly pass along your suggestion to see if we can make this possible for one of our videos in the future!
@RUDEMASTER5 жыл бұрын
@@USCCAOfficial Thanks I appreciate that because I have not found anything on the Internet for this subject on people with disabilities as I cannot move fast like a lot of these videos show you have to move this way and that way
@USCCAOfficial5 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome, Rudy. I know it is definitely a harder subject to find information on. I hope we can incorporate this in one of our future videos!

I carry a trauma kit but if I didn't have it.... and all that was available is a bungee cord... strap it on, loosing a limb is better then loosing my life.
@longgone98692 жыл бұрын
Tourniquets are $30, why would you suggest they use anything else. Leather belts break, that just allows more time for someone to bleed out. Carry a damn tourniquet!
@longgone98692 жыл бұрын
If you are in the camper, why would you even allow him to follow you in? That would be my red line
@gringling572 жыл бұрын
I enjoyed the videos. However, there are some errors in the medical advice. A belt makes a poor tourniquet. He suggested that a bungee cord or electric cord would not be helpful, this is false, smaller diameter does compress artery. The key regardless, is the use of a windlass. And lastly "You will do more damage than good" False as well. There has never (or rarely) been an amputation from tourniquet time. Even if this does occur, would you rather be alive with a leg missing or arm, or be dead and keep all 4 extremities. Pro tip: take a "Stop the Bleed" course.
