Great tutorial, just so you know; you can duplicate the imported sbsar in the substance asset manager (right click > duplicate) and then in the node editor select all the c4d shader nodes, then click substance shader, then drag the duplicated substance asset to that field to make a variant without duplicating the sbsar file itself; this will replace the linked substance asset in all of the selected nodes. It's also quicker to just click the substance in the substance asset manager to access its properties instead of clicking through and twirling down the properties of a material. Saves a lot of time when you end up making lots of adjustments!

Thanks Mike, I feel like more and more of us are going to be forced to transition to C4D, what with the Maxon acquisition and then the phasing out of the Keyshot partnership. I'm glad you're with us and holding our hands.

Great video! I followed your steps and it all looked great. I thought I could then add the converted material to the asset browser for later use. When I tried to reuse the material from the browser it turned black. I made sure RS was on so it wasn't that. Am I missing a step?

Thanks for this! Making the shift from Keyshot and this has me excited to learn more. It looks like your brass went black in the bottle. Did something change?

PA: Substance engine isn't supported for M1 chips in R26 yet, you'll need to roll back to R25 to use the substance pipeline.

thanks man,

Same with M1 and 2023 - but instead of rolling back you can run 2023 with Rosetta to get the Substance Engine.

Hey, Michael! Is your substance painter quckstart course still relevant? It's been six years, and I can download there fom google disc only the mesh you provided, no custom materials. Could you please elaborate on that?

Great tutorial thanks. I have the M1 and 2023 with Rosetta but when I bring in substance materials they are still looking wrong. I have the redshift render tag enabled and changed the resolution. Not sure what it is.😢
