Wow concise and clear video on an extremely useful feature. This method is the only method available right now to truly replicate the examination process where the students can write in the exam paper without typing answers..The only thing I wish it had was a method to mix up questions in the students view where the each student will get a assignment with its question numbers mixed up for each assignment copy to discourage copying of students

I totally agree, Magahasara! Although it may be more work, you can now assign work to groups of students. So you could do something similar! We have a video being released on this soon!

Hi, I got a question, maybe you can help me. I created assignments and onenote pages as templates in a seperate team and I want to distribute my assignments from there. When I attach a OneNote Page to an assignment and then share this assignment into another team (class) can they still read the OneNote Page attached to it, even if the OneNote Page is not in their class notebook but in the "template"-Team Notebook? Thanks!

In the example you showed of the quiz assignment through the class notebook, could students download/print the PDF within the notebook page, and then upload it back there when they are done?

Yes, they can edit the page however they'd like! I would suggest not setting the PDF as the background so that students can set their own completed PDF as the background instead. Students can insert their PDF file into the page and if it is not set as the background, you will have to open the PDF file when reviewing.

I'm looking for a way to have students submit CAD designs. I would then download their designs and grade them. Is this possible?

Hi Raph! I haven't had the chance to test this myself, so I am not 100% sure if OneNote supports CAD file types. If so, then it would be possible. Otherwise, students should be able to have their files in OneDrive or SharePoint and then use a shareable link to submit. I hope that helps!

Well done! Thank you Sara. You make it very easy to learn. Now, I teach college courses and we deal with all sorts of extra things like people claiming sickness and wanting to do make-up quizzes. Yes, that is a thing! Did you know? Make-up quizzes are a thing. So, it would be helpful to know: exactly when can a student see the quiz? Would it be possible to assign a quiz to a subset of the students? Would it be possible that a quiz opens up at a certain specified time and closes at a second specified time? Would it be guaranteed that only a certain subset of the students see the quiz at the specified time? At my previous university, we used Canvas, and those sorts of things were easy to do there. Now we are using Teams.

I haven't seen that before. ClassNotebook takes some time to sync up so if it were possible it wouldn't be in exact real time.

Hello Sara, thanks for the tutorial. Is the editing of the file possible in OneNote app on Windows 8.1 platform? It seems there is no background option on my desktop.

Sorry to hear you don't have this option! You can see if you are able to follow these steps to set your printout as a background: Go to File, Options, Advanced. At the bottom of the Advanced Options, you can "Automatically set inserted file printouts in the background." I hope this way can work for you!

@@ClassPoint Thank you for the response. Solved the problem. I guess I was using an older version of OneNote app on my desktop PC. Just upgraded it and it works, the background option is available. But I'll also try your alternative way, to see if it's easier. Keep up the good work 😊

@@ClassPoint Just a quick feedback. Since I upgraded the One Note app, it's impossible to use the advanced option in my browser or Team app. If I try that option, It automatically directs me to OneNote app. However thanks again, your tutorials are of a great help .
