One subtle feature of CAT5 or CAT6 cable is that the number of twists per metre is different for each pair. This increases the RF isolation at HF between the pairsto trpically 40 to 50 dB. Some years ago The company I run used to make active antennas using ethernet cable as feeders. The only reason we went back to coax was because our commercial customers wanted to use their existing coax cable runs. I would recommend the use of CAT6 cable for all the reasons mentioned in the video. Thanks for a very clear explanation!

I don't understand all the fussing about for Receive. "I've never heard a signal that I've not heard..."

I wonder whether this cable could handle QRP TX at maybe 5 watts? 🤔

I’ve been using CAT6 to power an active loop receive antenna, and to send the received signals back to the shack. It works very well :-)
