So you borrowed Dai to take to Uniswap to swap for Eth with is a taxable event. So you're paying (capital)gains tax on the Dai you just borrowed to swap?

You don't pay capital gains on decentralized exchanges, why would you ever report that to the IRS

@@colin7406 Chainanalysis. Your funds are tracked from the Exchange to your wallet and from their to whichever DeX you use. Unless you never completed KYC with the exchange.....

30 min is a joke, you don’t even have time to simulate the effect of your placement... But thanks for sharing anyways :) You know what would make this type of tutorial more interesting is if you’d tell us the reasoning behind every action you make. For exemple : « I’d like to let some money compound for my old days, it’s a long term strategy, I like my odds with Anchor, so I will borrow DAI from Aave first, then put them on Anchor and from the 20% APY I’ll pay back 10% against my loan on Aave and keep the rest in my Anchor account to accumulate. » This would help some of us understand what one could actually, practically, do with DeFi and what protocol could be useful. What says you?
