Only after watching your video did I realise that I always wrote or spoke that kind of sentences wrongly 😂. This is actually a bit similar to German, where the verb comes in the second position of the sentence, but in your case using this inversion as if it were a question. Great video.

Considering my very mediocre level, it's a real grammar and semantic aerobatics, Greg, those culbits. I definitely need to watch this video couple more times. Thank you very much and stay healthy.

Growing up with a mother with a dramatic personality, I certainly know we have this in Norwegian too, but, as cool and level headed I am in comparison, I really have no idea how to use it even if that's my native language 🤣 I have to hear mum inside my head to get it right. 😜

Yeah ! Very important to know these details. Actually in French - as you probably know!- we say sentences like " À peine avais-je fait un pas dans la maison que ... que le chien 🐕 vint me faire la fête !" I think it’s the same way of emphasizing. 221022

Hello Greg! Thank you for your videos. Could you please tell me if we can use adverbs like usually, often, sometimes in the past simple tense :eg. I often took my little brother to the cinema. Is it necessary to add qualifiers such as -last summer etc. Thank you in advance
@nikovanegas27352 жыл бұрын
I might be wrong but this is what i think: Adverbs like those help to show on going frequency as something that started and hasn't finalized yet.... so I think those should be used in present simple. To show the frequency of a habit in the past and that habit is finalized i prefer using the semi-modal "used to" "I used to take my brother to the cinema"

please help "(if "THERE " word is used for inversion in a sentence and it is showing "Adverb of place" As. There stood my friend.(Inverted form) If this same sentence is added to a subordinate clause, will "THERE" word become "dummy THERE". are there any such rules in english As (This is the time When "THERE" stood my friend.)) Will "THERE" become a "dummy subject" here? Or "THERE" word is still an "adverb of place" here Please reply 🙂🙂

I think you are forming questions incorrectly. Ex. He is a doctor The question should be: What does he do? .. Not: Is he a doctor?! >> its answer should be: Yes, he is. or Yes, he is a doctor.

J Should and J would, but J cannot do it now. What do you think about next week?
