Use Items from Your Inventory Menu Screen - [Intermediate] RPG Maker MZ Tutorial

When you want your player to dig through their inventory to use an item on an event instead.
tl;dw: Each item links to a common event. Make sure you check for map ID, player X + Y, and facing direction. Don't forget to remove item after use. Lastly, like vid + sub

Congratulations on making a game!!’ Edit; Finally, got it. I was stuck because despite being the second in line, my map was considered map 1. Figured that out bc noticed the dialogue for if all variables weren’t present was triggering when testing it out. Thank you so much, Odie.

I'm first! 😆 As always a pleasure to watch. Very usefull and adds more to your game instead of just running around pressing space till something happens. I can imagine this being used to great Effekt in Horror games for locked doors. And I personally like the idea of having like a keycard or just a key that can unlock more than one door. Adds a bit more Flair to Items than just being one use and done things.

I feel this should be easy. But, I'm struggling with it. I make my event, a book that I wanna place on a table. I set it to have no image, put in my event to set the image to change when it is clicked to reveal the book on the table. But for some reasons, it's not appearing. I've did the same thing with a different event and it works. I dunno what I'm doing wrong. I'm not good with variables, they confuse me a lot.

Add a show text to test and see that it's actually being interacted with. If it isn't then you may need to change priority to same as character

wonderful. a very useful tutorial, there are a lot of tutorials out there online but it's not as great as yours. If there are necessary plugins for horror game theme let us know. I almost didn't need the plugin with your instructions but if so let us know. I really appreciate what you're doing.

If it's the same key, you can watch the next tutorial one key to rule them all. Otherwise yes, you would need a common event for each separate item
