The way I thought I was wrong not putting 책 in the sentence the first time (as I knew that 권 was the counter for books) and then being so happy to find out I didn't need it after all. Thank you for another interesting lesson Billy 👍🏻

Do words in Korean often get confused that sound similar to someone who has not encountered Korean in a while?

thank you so much! I am currently in a Sejong course and there the subject marker is put at the end of the noun (f.e. monkey) but in Duolingo the suject marker always comes after the counter - so I was really wondering what is right.

What about 두 사람 vs 두 명?
@GoBillyKorean
@GoBillyKorean 7 ай бұрын
You'd use 사람 when you're not showing additional respect toward people (and use 분 when you do), but just when you mean "2 people" as a noun - not even necessarily counting them, but just saying "the two of them" or something like that. 명 though on its own doesn't have any extra respect, but isn't impolite, and is the one you'll want to use when actually counting people. 분 though can be used for either just to mean "people" or for counting when you want to show extra respect.
