I've run into the problem where I can't manually adjust the MIDI channels on the Mixer in Sibelius. I had to create two channel splitters in order to fit all the instruments in. When I select the correct splitter (the middle option on the Mixer in Sibelius), it automatically selects the channels for each instrument line, but they are not correct. For example, my clarinet is set to the trumpet channel, my trumpet is set to a celesta channel, etc. Even some of them are set to channels that are not assigned to any instruments. But I cannot change the channels manually. What can I do?

I tried creating a new iac driver for every 2 instruments and that seemed to work for now, still cant get the midi channels to change though. Work in progress..

Hi John, thank you for posting this, its really awesome, I just have a question, when i export the file into an mp3 the logic sounds do not transfer, the other sounds are all there, but missing the logic sounds, am I missing something? Thanks!

I'm having an issue with mine. I set it up exactly how you explained, however, in Sibelius it only plays 1 instrument sound even though I have a concert band setup. I know I routed them correctly in logic and assigned each their own channel #. Where could I have gone wrong? Please help! Thank you (:

Daniel Fifield set up an additional IAC bus like done at the beginning of the video, and create a separate splitter for it in Logic. You’ll have to route it accordingly in Sibelius as well. I’ve done it a lot actually. Works just fine

Hey! This was working great for me yesterday, but today having some very weird midi issues between Logic and Sibelius - when I click a note in Sibelius it seems to trigger midi in Logic and then back to Sibelius, meaning that Sibelius records an endless stream of that note. Are there any MIDI settings I need to change to make recording midi into Sibelius work with this IAC setup? Only seems to be an issue when I plug my midi keyboard in and try to play in notes. In Input Devices when I select my midi keyboard and de-select the IAC, I just hear the keyboard playing through Logic and can't play any sounds in Sibelius, but when I select both Input Devices it goes berserk.

Hey there. Just create another input and create another IAC bus and repeat the process. You can run simultaneous buses.

Then close everything, open Audio MIDI setup once again, create another IAC input, then go back into Logic, link up the channels, then go back into sibelius and complete the configuration? Will logic read and Play written articulation in sibelius like note performer?

Hi there. The tracks will play as you set them in Sibelius otherwise and it will only receive the basic MIDI data such as notes and dynamics. You will need to control the articulations through MIDI data. I would use Google and research CC MIDI data for this type of advanced routing. I can potentially do another advanced video on this later.

Hi there, make sure you ensure you have each track in Logic pointed to the right MIDI channel.

Hi Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. I'm using High Sierra with 16GB RAM, and can get the sounds successfully playing in logic from Sibelius, however after a a few notes, I get terrible distortion. Would you have any advise on how to fix/remedy this please? I was using Catalina when this occured, and I initially thought it might have something to do with compatibility issues with the OS, so downgraded to High Sierra, but it's still occuring....

Simon During-Nicholson can you describe the distortion? Is it crackling/clipping?

@@johnbaudendistel7509 Yes it appears to be crackling. It mainly occurs when I use my MIDI keyboard to play a chord using a piano patch (sometimes even a succession of quick notes). I can play the first chord, then around the 3rd chord/note, it sustains indefinitely and crackles and distorts. After a few seconds it then cuts and I'm able to play 2 or 3 notes/chords again before it issue repeats itself.
