This is just what I have been looking for thank you. Just a pity I can't make use of the information at this stage of my Logic competence. It would be great if you could do another that doesn't require a PHD in Logic :)

Hi Nils, great lessons of logic... I have some problems to understand a part of this Ep5, because the video fail in some parts and maybe I miss something... I don't could understand how you make logic jump to the next marker without cycle range enable... Because when jump to next marker, do it whit the cycle range enable, and I dont see a key command to do without enable... Thanks for the videos

Ty for the instruction!! BTW is anyone having problems with meta events? I tried doing this and sometimes meta events work and sometimes they don't. The playhead does not stop and it does not jump to the markers assigned. Anyone having the same issue?

Hi Nils, Thank you very much for sharing and all the effort! The video is really helpful! I changed the IAC switcher to "set locaters by marker and enable cycle" This way I only have to switch off cycle on my roland pad to move on. And we don't have to worry about cycle errors!

This video was very helpful thank you! Question: once I set up my IAC Bus 1 and set it up to trigger the cycle locator, HUGE latency was introduced to my project. Has anyone else experienced this??? working on a 2021 M1 Macbook

Hi Nils, This is so helpful to see a real-world example with your live backing tracks. Thank you so much for the great series! I'm wondering how you have designated "Cycle" sections that stay in order and at the length and position that you place them (Ascending to the next one makes total sense with the IAC channel). Is the position based on the marker? I can't figure out how to have multiple cycles at all, without wiping out the one I just designated. The closest I can get is having "Auto Set Locators" checked under the cycle button, and then highlighting the actual audio waveform, or creating a way to go to "next marker" which isn't too bad if you're playing solo, not as good as having those timings planned out ahead of time, as it looks like you have done.

Ok the cycle regions are set up with the markers. So the length of the marker determines the length of the cycle region. By default logic creates a new marker with out any length or with 0 0 0 1 . You can change that to an even 4 or 8 bars or whatever when you click on the 3 lines on the top right and go to the marker edit tab. Or you can cut the audio region to exactly the right length, select it and from the top menu use the Navigate> other> "create maker for selected regions" command

@@nilsguitar That’s great, thank you for the reply. One more thing, how does it “remember” that you want the cycle the full length of the marker? That was my main issue is moving from one cycle to the next smoothly without having to drag it out again. And is your foot switch set to simply turn on/off cycles (same as C key)?

Hey! I have watched all your episodes. But how do you send the sound to the drummer and the sound to the crowd? You don't show how you split it so only the drummer hear the click track. Please help me.
@nilsguitar2 жыл бұрын
You need an audio interface with 4 outs. So then in logic you will have out 1/2 for drummer click and count off and out 3/4 for FOH music. I also add a send to an avail. bus on each music channel and route the bus to out 1/2. This way I can also send music to the drummer if needed .I use a little focurite scarlett audio interface

Hi Nils, this is great. Thank you for sharing! How would you set up logic to not loop each section of the song (intro, verse, chorus), but just loop the guitar solo section? I want to just be able to let the session play in fixed format throughout the form, and then to have the ability to only loop for the guitar solo and then cue out to the next section with the footswitch.
@elyamzon4 жыл бұрын
You don't have to create markers on all section. If you already created the markers for verse and chorus, you can delete them. But leave the Guitar Solo marker. I just realized this myself LOL

I have a question regarding meta Go To. If I use Go To without Stop in my project, the visual playhead does not animate to jump to the corresponding marker. After around one bar or so, the audio catches up and plays, but not from the start of the marker. It's almost like the session is trying to catch up, as only silence plays for that bar, missing the intro to the songs. Is this something you have experienced? A bug with Logic maybe?
@nilsguitar2 жыл бұрын
Hasn't happened to me, but maybe it's your computer not managing to catching up in time. You could try to make the marker a bar early so there is an empty bar before the music starts. See if that works
