This tactic is so effective that sometimes you don't even need to cast any spell or fire any artillery. It happens many lords can get rid of full units on their own.

My Skarbrand starts every battle by pulverizing the enemy lord and all their heroes in single combat.

My favorite tactic to use when playing as the Dwarves and use the Irondrakes flamers to melt everything around my heroes. So destructive.

Dwarves excell at this cause their lords are mainly tanks. And blasting charges for the early game equivalent of this tactic.

One of my favourite tactics with a life mage and dwellers below; everybody discounts the risk of blobbing up when it's a life mage; "they can't cast pit of shades or nuthin'! hawhaw- awwww!". You don't have to use a lord, either; most folks will be gunning to isolate and surround your single entities, caster or any win condition units, in my case it's usually my fireborn cav, so a dwellers followed almost immediately by a regrowth, *chefs kiss*

Nurgle might be a slow faction but when kugath gets to tank 5 or more infantry units and you pop a good area spell it feels amazing.

Been doing this since warhams 1. My favorite is several heroes in a ‘hero ball’ with plenty of synergizing buffs. Some spell resistance and healing abilities and you can blast aoes and artillery on top of them and hit hundreds of entities at once.

This is extra fun when using vampire lords and the Pit of Shades magic attack, turns a orc Waagh into a corpse pile easily.

to add on the tactic, if you mess up and notice that your lord is taking a lot more dmg than you expected, sending infantry to also attacks helps to get them out of trouble, because their infantry wont be able to keep your lord encircled, holding them in place

It does only work against units without GUARD activated. Guard units HOLD their formation.

This video and the other tactics videos have made me realize just how stupid busted Skarbrand really is. You can use him as a chariot, to punch holes in the enemy front line, to be a damage sponge, to be bait, to then capitalize on that bunching, and even more. He's nuts.

I have done this once during the total war hammer campaign with green skins the only difference is that I use the lord to make the high tier units chase him away from the battlefield so my running units to regroup and counter attack

lol scarbrand just gets thrown into the center of the enemy to kill the lord or anything else big while the rest of the army just runs in while everyone is distracted

Scarbrand in campaign feels like they are built with this, with massive buffs to his replenishment, you can offset damage to your units by having them target him, and have the units hammer away till everything is broken

skarbrand is large and doesn't have magic or range fire, and limited mobility. You would want a tanky race with lots of firepower both artillery and ranged, so dwarfs.

I think blobbing is one of the if not THE worst thing that the AI does. There should nbe conditions in place that disallow to send more than one unit into any situation, or at least not the entire stack... So many fights turn into an uninspired blobbfest it's a shame really
