Use of a Spinal Board and Blocks

This video is part of a new series of basic clinical skills videos.
It demonstrates how to move a move a patient with a suspected spinal injury onto a spinal board, and immobilise the c-spine with a stiff neck collar and blocks.

You should not put or place your hands on any parts of the victim's body unless you are ready to lift/pull the body and the more, you should not step on the victim's body.

Not even for hemorrhage control, fracture stabilization, chest wound occlusion, c-spine stabilization, etc? But yeah, I agree with you on not stepping overtop the patient

Hi, I'm currently sitting my PHECC EFR and there seems to be a bit of confusion, per the OSCE, it says to start at upper torso, would you consider this to be the chest straps or shoulder straps?

If you meant the straps that secure the patient to the board, Chest, then pelvic. The idea is to secure those quickly so that in case of vomiting, you can quickly and safely roll the patient without them falling off the board.
