In 2016, I treated five peyote cacti from my garden (legal in Canada) with a silver solution, and the intent of creating SUPER alkaloidal amines, amino acids, phenylethamines, and isoquinolines for future research into its possible antibiotic action(s). What is needed for ma portion of my dry-powdered fifteen gram sample is a facility with a High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography apparatus to conduct the analysis. I have made request's to laboratories nationally and internationally; all have refused remain silent at this time of writing (2020). My hunch is that the antibiotic properties of plant and mineral have the potential to introduce a whole new class of alkaloids, including other undiscovered salt's.

What if we formulated and used the very first type of penicillin that was developed in 1928 on these superbugs, rather than the modern day variants? Would they have resistance to it?

You are extremely intelligent, and you have very intelligent people watching your videos, so I'm going to ask a off topic question . Hopefully, I get the answer I need so badly. I am extremely congested in my sinus into my ears. My Dr. put me on an antibiotic, and my congestion is now clear, but I still have fluid in my ears so badly, and they pop and hurt from it. I can't take over the counter decongestants because I get drug tested monthly, and in 10 years, I've never failed a drug test. Im on 1 medicine called methadone for addiction, which im 90% weend off of. My question is, what can I take or do to get this congestion out of my sinus and out of my eustachian tubes without causing me to fail my drug test. Mucinex is not helping me.

This is absolutely amazing! I'm going to refer my students here to have a listen. What do you think about using bacteriophages to combat bacterial infections? I know there are concerns about unpredictable mutations, but the tech is promising. AI will be a great tool to have in our arsenal for sure. I'm looking forward to future developments.

phage resistance may also induce trade-off costs. Phage-resistant bacteria may become less virulent in case of mutations in surface virulence factors, such as LPS

I agree about the validity and usefulness of these tools. Biotech like bacteriophage therapy, CRISPR-Cas9, genetic engineering of microbes, etc. looks to be the way of the future.

@@BiologyProfessor im wondering if this CRISPR can be use to combat COVID 19?
@whitneyholden38574 жыл бұрын
A.I. Dimmer, I do not see an obvious path for this. CRISPR-Cas9 is a tool to modify an organism’s genome in a relatively quick and inexpensive way. I’m not sure how modifying an organism’s genome would help in the fight against this coronavirus, unless it were modifying every human genome to express antibodies that would fight this virus. And we are a long, long way from editing the human genome in this manner.

I mean sensitivity of an organism to a specific compound, meaning that the organism cannot survive in the presence of that compound.
