Does one need to use the formula method? or could just stick with the way that you shown using the TI 30.
@GetSumMath

Great question - If the answers are regular numbers, you can do it with the calculator. But if the answers are in that "quadratic formula" form will you have to use the formula. Hope that makes sense!

Hey, I’ve been studying for a while, I plan to take the test tomorrow, do they also grade you based on how much time you take? Or is it based purely off right or wrong answers ?
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath Жыл бұрын
Just on right or wrong answers! I always recommend, spend your time on the one's you've practiced and know first, flag the ones you don't, and then you can go back to those at the end. All the best tomorrow! Keep us posted 🙏🏻

Is this for the math part in Ged? I’m so confused I’m not understanding how your getting your answers.. I just have the Math test left I’m looking for everything to take it and pass soon
@GetSumMath

It is for the math GED, but I wouldn’t worry about these ones! The more common type of this one you can do with the calculator: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gny2o6KiZa6iqLs

idk if youll see this comment since this vid is older but some questions have four numbers, so im not sure which ones to mark as a, b, and c. how can you tell?
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath 7 ай бұрын
Hey there, great question! If there are 4 numbers, you'll move the number on the right over to the left, to get 3 numbers. For example: 3x^2 + 2x + 10 = 4 We need to get all the numbers to the left, so we subtract 4 on both sides of the equal sign: 3x^2 + 2x + 10 - 4 = 4 - 4 which equals: 3x^2 + 2x + 6 = 0 Then: a = 3 b = 2 c = 6 Hope that helps a bit more! I also show how to do these problems with the calculator if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXisemSnjtx9erM

thank you so much, that helps a lot! though, one more question. i thought youre supposed to flip the sign when you transfer it to the left side of the =. is that only when there are three numbers?
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath 7 ай бұрын
@@16parfum That is true! That's why the +4 on the right side of the equation becomes a -4 on the left side 👍🏼

Done, but i struggled with the last one. Can you please explain the root part again?
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath Жыл бұрын
For sure! If the root is a number like √48 that can be thought of as √16•3, since 16•3 = 48. But then you can take the √16, which is 4, and rewrite it as 4√3, leaving the 3 in the square root (since you can't square root it). Therefore, √48 = 4√3. This number then might simplify with the bottom number if that's even, since you can cut 4 in half and the bottom number in half. I hope that helps explain that last example a little bit! If not, you def don't need this to pass anyway 😜

This is not a topic I would worry about! I would do all of the other ones and skip this topic as it’s very disconnected from the rest of the material 🙂
@Cavediver86

I don't understand any of this.
@GetSumMath
@GetSumMath Жыл бұрын
In terms of GED math questions, this is definitely one to skip. It's a bit disconnected from all of the other topics, so I wouldn't worry about it. But, it's basically substituting different values into the quadratic formula (on the formula sheet). So if the question is: "What x values make 2x^2 + 3x + 5 = 0 ?" a is in front of x^2, b is in front of x c is the last number so a = 2 b = 3 c = 5 and those are what you'd plug into the complicated looking formula for a, b, and c. If you focus on the other stuff, you'll be able to pass, so I'd skip this one!
