A nice review that made me want to read the dragon entries again. Looks like both the metallic and chromatic dragons have special abilities based on their breath weapons, starting at Young age brackets. I found that really cool and it makes sense.

Even more insane is that they start getting lighter versions of this as Young Dragons. Also the metallic dragons don't have this kind of zone effects but they seem to all get a choice of two types of breath weapons: one lethal and one non-lethal that can be used to weaken adversaries (probably because metallic dragons are more likely to weaken you and tell you how futile your attempts to kill it are) . I believe this is what balances it out.

They added YELLOW dragons..😄 Still wished for orange ( jungle dwelling, sodium salvia spew that harm prey badly when trying to get it off ), purple ( plasma breath, deep dragon are sub-species of purples ), gray ( purely physical with spikes etc) and brown have wings adapted to swim through sand . Also Gem and a few more Metallics. Heck why not make a Tales of Valiant Draconic Bestiary? Not just dragons but wyrms, drakes, linnorms, anathemas, quotls, pseudo, faerie, wyverns and Lung dragons ( dragon dragon 😂) An ultimate compilation. Just a sidenote. Dragons gotta have wings. Imo the 2e and later Richard Alan Lloyd yellow ( coast, salt spewing, not the " yellow" sand variant )dragons and orange dragons MUST have wings or they are just bigger... drakes
