Another great video, Dillon, and thanks so much for including my work (the boa cage at the 16:00 mark), I’m very flattered. To answer your question about the woodwork, I did do all of that myself as well. One of the perks of being a carpenter by trade. I did want to make it a bit of a show piece as it would be living in a very visible area of my home. And I realize I forgot to list dimensions! The space is 78”Lx28”Wx40”H, equivalent to about 380 gallons of interior space. At my snakes current volume, that’s 1250 times her volume (but she’s still young)

Hey Mark, thanks for chiming in! I was pretty sure you did the work but it was 100% sure. Amazing job, it turned out incredible. It will be an excellent show piece. It's going to be a great conversation starter when you have non-reptile folks visiting as well!

@@jessescales4982 good luck with your project, man! A good place to start improving your woodworking skills is to learn about a few different kinds of wood joints. Mitre joint, butt joint, half-lap joint, pocket screws, to name a few. Learning and practicing these techniques and concepts will undoubtedly benefit your project!

THANK YOU to everyone who submitted photos!!! These enclosures are gorgeous, and the animals all look so happy and healthy!!! I am feeling so inspired! Dillon - I love the positive energy of these videos. So many react videos involve the occasional roasting. This positive showcasing style is way more pleasant and encouraging. I am so happy to see this emerging as a series!!!

Thank you for showcasing my enclosures Dillon. It’s humbling knowing I can inspire other people to create a beautiful enclosure for their reptile. I love seeing the creativity people have and the different types of enclosures for specific climates and species. Gary’s rock work and general designs are breathtaking. The pygmy python and Leopard gecko desert enclosures were impressive and Mark’s boa cage with the custom wood work was incredible. Thank you for putting Seven’s cage and Nala’s photo on the video link. I feel honored to be featured that way. I’m hoping by fall I will have two more enclosures to submit. I’ll be building a 36Lx24Wx48H for my gargoyle gecko, and a 72Lx24Wx48H PVC cage for a Rainbow boa I’m planning on buying late this summer. I forgot to include that all of the branches and bark in my cages I collected on my land in NH.

These are all incredible! Love seeing this type of thing becoming more common (and couldn't be more thrilled at someone shifting from a morph obsession with a bioactive one haha!) Cant wait to finally start working on my JCPs new enclosure again next month. Unfortunately I really had to put the breaks on most of my projects over the last few months but it's one of those things you just never stop thinking about. Also, third time's a charm, I will get some videos and pictures sent to you very soon hopefully for the third video haha!

I'm having 2 new enclosures custom made right now for my rosy boa and leopard gecko. in 2 weeks, i have a couple days off of work that i plan to use to set them up. i'm possibly doing a fake rock background with foam too. if all goes according to plan, it should look pretty awesome when i'm done. i hope to submit them in a few weeks if you're still doing more videos like this. i love watching for inspiration too.

These are some really beautiful enclosures ❤❤ I am currently in the process of buying an enclosure from someone who did custom build a cabinet into a home for his python. I am going to take it over and put in additional landscaping, plants and I really want to build a waterfall feature with a pond. It’s going to be a long process, but I’m in no rush. No serpent will be living in there in the beginning. At least not before maybe next summer or maybe even longer since buying proper lighting and heat sources isn’t cheap. I want Arcadia 😅

Do you have any tips for good loose substrate that's medium humidity? I'm thinking about making a bioactive enclosure for my future corn snake and world like it to be able to borrow
@AnimalsatHomePodcast3 жыл бұрын
I would really go with any DIY Bioactive substrate! Most of them are a mix of soil, peat moss, cocofiber, leaf litter, sphagnum moss, etc. I think that would work well 👍 Just play around with it!
