I'm taking one of my favorite Brent Mason licks and seeing it as a source of inspiration. Rather than playing his lick over and over again I can use a device called chord tone sequencing to get new ideas and help develop my own voice on the instrument. I doubt I would teach something like that. This channel is more about cultivating creativity rather than mimicking. This is why you rarely see me teach someone else's solo. I can tell you that the way he connects ideas is the way we all do. I cover a lot of those devices in my mastering double stops and mastering flatpicking courses.
