Listen. It doesn't matter how much your heart pains, how difficult it is to breath, how restless you feel, you are not dying and are not even remotely close to it. Your survival rate is 100%. You are not alone in this and we will get through this together and it will feel amazing when that happens. Once this is over, you will start to take steps to prevent this in future and everything will be fine. You are loved and cared.

You know, regardless of how untrue and unrealistic the fear of death and impending doom is. In that moment, those fears are very REAL to the sufferer. Rather than saying that they’re not going to die (as heartfelt as it’s intended), it actually doesn’t help. Validation is key in these situations. Rather than saying “you’re not gonna die!”, say, “I know you feel like you’re dying, but I promise that is not what is happening. Your body is working exactly the way it is supposed to. Your heart was made to beat this fast. Feeling dizzy and lightheaded and short of breath is very normal. But, It will pass.” Once panic reaches its peak, it will fade out on its own. It’s just the experiencing the symptoms and having to wait it out that is the terrifying part. But it is extremely important to validate the sufferer’s feelings. Not so much that you lie to them, but those feelings are REAL to THEM and THAT needs to be validated. Then you can sprinkle some reality in there in an effort to help ground them.

I wish I could give you all a big, tight hug. And to anyone who might see this in the future that‘s feeling the same way as me right now: You‘ll be okay. I promise. This feeling will pass with time, we‘re all in this together. Just take a deep breath and imagine me giving your hand a gentle squeeze if you need someone to hold onto. Breathe You are safe Breathe Nothing is ACTUALLY happening Breathe You know it’s just a panic attack, like many times before Breathe Focus on the music Breathe Maybe the worst is already behind you? Breathe The tightness will go away soon Breathe You’re doing great Breathe It’s LITERALLY not even the worst attack you’ve had Breathe You’re safe Breathe You’ll get better in a moment Breathe It always scary, but ALWAYS TEMPORARY Breathe The feeling will go away Breathe It’s not a heart attack, you know your heart is fine. Breathe You are safe Breathe If it was a heart attack you’d already be in a hospital Breathe

i’m writing a note to myself, since i come to this video frequently: -you are a good mom and you are capable of caring for your beautiful sons. they love you and need you. -overall, you enjoy life. these panic attacks make you feel tired and like you can’t go on, but they are a small portion of your day, not the whole day. -someday, you will be in school again and you will not let the attacks hold you back from graduating -someday, you’ll be able to go on an airplane again -you are a fighter and the attacks will not win, this is NOT your forever. -you can hold a job and not let panic attacks ruin it... if not, at least it’s worth a shot. you’ve got this. Blaire Williams Just because you havent graduated yet does not make you unintelligent, just because holding a job is difficult due to your panic attacks does not make you unmotivated or over emotional. most importantly, having anxiety does not make you a bad mother. While you cry in your room late at night due to a panic attack you have your wonderful children who look up to you in this world to guide and love them and they think the absolute world of you. But not only are you just a mother at the end of the day you’re a woman lost in the world like everybody else. So please pick up an old relaxing hobby, do some art, read, write, do yoga. Whatever you want at the end of the day to unwind and have you time. Because you deserve it.

@Ch3rry Blossom ASMR It'll be ok I promise :) Listen to this music and close your eyes, think about a person or fantasy that usually makes you happy, I find having something to focus on like that or tapping your fingers rhythmically helps a lot. When I feel panicky I go to a kitchen sink and run really cold water under my hands, it helps stimulate your thoughts and calm your body. Take a deep breath, 1... 2... 3... breathe out, 1... 2... In again :) Close your eyes and after you feel a little better watch some KZbin or a show you like and find something to do for a bit, it won't last long bb ❤️

for the overthinkers who find themselves spiralling into their biggest fears and worst case scenarios - you’re okay. you’re here, your okay and it’s not going to happen. you’re not alone. you’re not going to die, you’re not sick, the bad thing is not going to come true and you are going to be okay. i know it. i promise. its all going to be alright, trust me. we’ll do this together no matter how hard it is, how scared you are and how everything feels like it’s going to end. this isn’t the ending. all that’s important is that you’re calm and you’re here now. you’re getting better. and here there will always be infinite hugs and love whenever and wherever you need them. let’s do this together, and we’re both gonna be okay.

No matter how crazy your heart feels, how hard it is to catch your breath, how impossible it feels to reassure yourself, you are doing amazing and this will pass, no matter how long it takes. You are not dying. Take your time. Update: it has been 8 months since I originally made this comment. That was when I had a panic attack that lasted 5 days after three months of already suffering them. It was the worst mental health of my life. I thought I was dying. But I didn’t. It has been eight months since then. It has been several months since my last panic attack. I survived. I am healing. Things really, truly got better no matter how sure I was they weren’t. You will make it too, even if you don’t want to or think you can’t. You will. Your survival rate is 100%. You are loved. Don’t give up. I’m so glad I didn’t. I’m so glad you didn’t either 💖

For any emetophobes out there, follow me through our panic attack. Breathe in and out to the music and/or alternate massaging your shoulders left and right side to the music. Left, right, left right. You got this, everything is ok, your shoulders are starting to loosen up, it feels like you’re in the spa getting a massage. Maybe if you want to let’s switch it up to rubbing your ears left and right side to the music, or sides of your scalp. Keep scratching…. Keep scratching. Do you hear the triangle in the background dinging? Does it remind you of sleigh bells? What season is it right now? Does that white flower on the screen remind you of a Doiley you put your tea cup on? You can run your fingers across it and it be scratchy and flimsy. Remember when your grandma scratched your back when you were a kid? Remember how relaxed you were? That’s right now. Scratch your back with me to the music. Up and down, up… down. Keep tickling yourself. So soothing. You’re getting sleepy. You’re at peace. Everything is good, you’re secure, you’re totally relaxed every muscle in your body. You feel pleasure every time you run your nails across your skin. You’re bliss. My love, you are better.

Put your hand on your chest. Feel the comfort of your hand over your chest almost as if it is supporting it Close your eyes and breathe Think of a person, place, thing that makes you happy and hold that feeling while you breathe Eventually you will smile This tricks the brain into thinking you are happy and eventually you will be. Anxiety is a very tough thing to deal with. Remember this isn’t forever and you will be okay soon. If you have anxiety meds one day if your anxiety isn’t too bad try and train yourself to self cope. If not that’s okay it doesn’t mean by any means you are weak You just have it worse than some and I’m sorry 🌹 stay strong please.

Things to try for anyone reading this: - Turn lights off to reduce stimulus - focus on breathing (obviously) - stomping on the ground to physically ground yourself - smelling something that makes you calm / happy, fave perfume or candle etc. - remember your happiest memory - streching / yoga poses - stand in a power pose e.g. super hero pose to induce inner confidence, legs apart face up and chest out - pretend you're on a fashion runway ooze confidence - stroke you're hair - wash face and feet with luke warm water - listen to calm music (I like jazz or classical)

Panic attack tip: I’m no psychiatrist or therapist, but I’ve been suffering with anxiety since I was a kid. I know this is going to sound horrible, but it helps me and it might help you. I lay down in bed with my head propped up on two pillows and spray a can of febreeze or put some candles up. Focusing on smells and little details to distract myself help a lot. I try to have a bottle of water next to me (I normally have panic attacks at bedtime) and I get a COLD wet rag and lay it on my neck and switch to my forehead once in a while. I then get on my phone and watch funny videos or listen to ASMR. I know it’s going to sound shitty in the moment because who the hell wants to watch a funny video during a panic attack? but I swear to god. If you turn on vine or a funny youtuber and distract yourself, it’ll help better then you think. P.S. this is just a suggestion. I’m not a doctor or whatever, this is based on my personal preference.

I’m here to remind you that someday, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not today, but someday, it will get better. You might feel like these panic attacks are gonna keep coming and coming but please, please believe me when I say it’s worth holding on and waking up everyday because one day, someday, you’ll notice they are not that frequent, and someday, you’ll notice they’re almost gone. And it might take time and you might feel hopeless but I swear that someday will come, but you have to keep holding on. Someday you’ll be alone in your house, listening to your favorite song, dancing around with no worries at all and that day you’ll realize, this was what I was waiting for. And you might feel like you’ll never get there, or that you were getting there and fell back down, but I’ve been there, just look back and notice how far you’ve come. Everyday that passes means you’ve made it this far, and I believe in you, you’ll get to that someday. I love you, remember that.

I just watched a TED talk "Breathe to Heal" and the speaker said that anxiety is often covering up repressed/blocked grief. So crying is often a natural response to deep breathing. He talked about the fact that we don't mind people seeing us express anger but we often feel embarrassed about expressing other emotions because we've been conditioned to be that way. It's good that you shared this. It might prevent others giving up on the exercise because they think it's making them feel worse!

To myself and anyone else who suffers with health anxiety: You are healthy, you are alive, you are absolutely fine. Believe the doctors when they say you are okay. That’s your proof. You don’t need a second opinion, fight the urge to keep checking and stay strong. All you have to do is breathe and this feeling will pass. You have gotten through every “health scare” you thought you had before and nothing came of it. Have faith in your body. You are safe, you are healthy. Whatever you do, don’t check, don’t look, don’t touch, don’t pick out imperfections, don’t give in to rituals. You are better than this you are stronger than this. You can do it. The more times you beat this feeling the closer you are to a normal life. You got this. We got this! You are okay. You are safe. You are healthy. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. Don’t give in to that silly thought whispering to you to indulge in health anxiety - you don’t need it. You know it’s a fraud. You are strong. You are loved. Life is going to be long and happy. I did it. I got through it here is the proof. You can do it again you got this! 🤍

So what would be the best advice to try and get out of this mindset and it is basically taking over my life… some days are definitely better than others
