Hello! Can i do the same thing but, I'll be using the docking station + phone + an old laptop? See, im trying to make the old laptop(running vga) to be my main monitor becuz i want a bigger screen. So i think maybe using the docking station would work just fine in this order: the phone goes into the docking station+ vga cable goes in there as well, and the other end goes into the laptop. Does that work

Cool find. The display is great but the main part would need to be able to move around with a mouse or keyboard like you show here. If that doesn't work just looking at the display doesn't help.

Not all phones can be connected this way. Only phones with MHL support can be connected. Samsung Galaxy S series phones support MHL, but other Samsung phones do not support

Hmm, interesting device thank you for the review. My old Belkin USB 2.0 with 7-ports just took its last byte. I just need a reliable multi-port hub with HDMI and USB (2.0 & 3.0), but will consider additional types of ports to cover my "wish I had that port too on my hub". I recently purchased a really cool device that converts HDMI to RCA, which saved us money and reprioritized our household budget. There aren't any small TVs on the market that meet our "Kitchen TV Requirements" - the TV with stand must not exceed 17 1/2-inches, so it could fit underneath the cabinet and slide back into the corner. The cool converter device permitted us to use one of our old small Sylvania 15-inch TV (Model # LC155SL8P) LCD HDTV.

Samsung dex only works with Samsung phones. The if your phone is not a Samsung and broken like that this connectors will not launch the screen like that. It's only launching Samsung dex everytime becUse in the Samsung dex settings u can set it up to automatically launch Samsung dex on detection of a hdmi cable connection.

I’m looking for a USB-C splitter for my Pixel 7 Pro that can connect to its USB-C port. I figured it out. The screen wont show on the TV unless the code is in. 5 click the power button while connected. The SOS page will show on TV. With your mouse drag down the notification bar and click on flight mode. It will ask you to input your pin but you'll need to be fast because it will come off the SOS page and image will dissapear again. Got it on my 2nd try and the phone unlocked.

in that case you may need some kind of keyboard to connect to the phone, if the cable (hub) you got has any usb ports, just connect any keyboard [standard] and it should work , or after you plug it to the monitor/tv and you see the keypad to enter the password, disconnect it and connect a keyboard via any usb-c to normal usb [usb a] and plug in a keyboard, then enter the password "blindly" and hit enter, then plug it back to the tv and see if it's unlocked. I know it sounds like a lot but at this point those are your only options, or at least that i can think of.

Most devices work so far at least some i have with usb c.... you can check if your device is MHL equipped here : www.mhltech.org/devices.aspx?tid=1. , it worked with some of my older devices but that definitely depends on the capability of the graphics chip and thw cpu of the device.

​@@Gakpakekecap Screen mirroring is a function of the phone, not of the USB connector. I have old phones that use Micro USB connectors that support screen mirroring.
