Confidence must be grounded in competence. And you only get that when you put in the work and train to become a master.

@ 0.42: I didn't talk to anyone before I trained at the gym. I walked out onto the floor like I was Rhonda Rousey before a big fight - every time. And it worked every time... I killed it no matter how I felt that day (including whether I had had insomnia or a torn tendon). I ended up with great results.

Unfortunately most people will miss the, "be humble in your preparation" component. Instead they will double down on the title of the video and end up, "cocky with the preparation and get humbled by the execution." Logistics isn't sexy.

Humility is the greatest trait of a leader, but confidence is required when leading the execution of the mission.

@EchelonFront do you feel that your average viewer struggles more with confidence or humility?

If there are people that read a title to a video on KZbin and then act on that, then there are people like that. Not a lot to be done about people who do not think or act critically.
@dragnoc
@dragnoc Ай бұрын
@renewed6250 I understand what you mean, people are responsible for their perspective and if they don't watch the whole video with the same intention, they will miss something. However, I believe that we have to recognize what we are prioritizing when we share information. If we put "be humble" as the title to a video we can reasonably assume it will change people's perspective compared to "be cocky".
@renewed6250
@renewed6250 Ай бұрын
@@dragnoc again...if you will be cocky vs humble depending on the title of a video..that is a person who would do anything based on the title of the video then. All podcasters do the clickbaity style titling, with Jocko I will say it is at least usually done as an inside joke almost...like "hey have a big ego" which if you watch the podcast or read the books...you will know that is not being prescribed. The priority of a video title, is to get people to click on it. If the priority were to be magically making people be humble...then the poster of said video would be illinformed of human nature.

My mindest is different, I know I will die and my life is meaningless, and everything is meaningless, and I don't feel anything. That is what Jocko doesen't understant, all of that suffering and discipline is meaningless, we need to live free without any goal and emotion, because everything you choose is meaningless, and to put the effort and suffer for meaningless goals is more meaningless than do nothing, living free without meaning isn't that beautiful?

@@Nnsk470 True this. The footsteps in the sand. When there were two we walk together. When there is only one set, he carried me. Actually crying and screaming. All for my own good. idk meaningless but it is okay to give it up, surrender to the Lord. It makes life on this road - calmer - leave veggie matter alone - soaking in the sun. No worries. I get that you see life differently. While it's true life ends and things can feel meaningless, many find meaning in everyday tasks and responsibilities. These things may seem small, but they give life structure and purpose. Even if life's ultimate meaning is uncertain, finding meaning in simple actions can make life feel more fulfilling.

PMI positive mental attitude idk after you speak the day after 911 to an international audience - it is not something one worries about much - after that (how bad could it get.) If I new then ... Execution - I still have to go my own way - they want me to 'fix my bugs' but that is what makes it work - I accept the bad with the good - I have found that one needs to sift a lot of rock to find the gems. Even then they are raw and need a lot of work - take joy in the searching, fined & meet challenges as the reward - solving a little puzzle - one piece in place at a time. I was told that there was a boy that could dump the box of puzzle pieces in one room - not look at the picture on the box - and assemble the image in another room. This bit here, that bit there, the procedure the same, build the frame, fill in colors, match the nubs (Dad called them tits) pattern matching exercise. That is really all life, work, worship is - I found the Lord this way. sfat I should say he/she found me. Made me - idk confidence is different than skill - So far as shooting - Practice - let the body do it's thing - is that Zen What do you want for nothing. Let me ask - my seal, ranger, special forces, Mil spec friends - in the final analysis - are you happy? I do my best (sometimes short, my fault or others ) Not the right word - happy - busy, occupied, challenged, learning, loving, living - okay laughing. Maybe not happy but I got a 50 year old message from my Dad (Dead and buried but living within me) delivered to very cool people and place not many get to go - not about the money - I am absolutely thrilled - a little cocky yes, it is hard to put it down, the drawn saber of God. The words were wieldier of the saber of God - works for me. You see they want to saber rattle - Bring it on. This is as you say, just a little cocky. Imagine if they let me off lead. Mars colony needs KSA's not KMA but hey that works too. Love your show. I am nobody - that is the Father actually, The holy spirit. Yes, I am the Father, the kids call me Padre. No, my son is not Jesus. But the thought is there. Consider the Holy Trinity - it is really one. E-MC**2 - energy matter all the same. How is my qui? (lol if you know, you know) It is like, Money in the bank.
