Good morning nina, went to bed yesterday in a winterwonderland, woke up this morning and it was all gone....Everything back to the muddy colours of winter in holland. Well anyway, you put the colour back in your new journal, the basket with all the pieces of paper in it is like a treasure, I also keep the smallest pieces and some day they find their place...I love the idea of seeing your journal grow during the year. This way of putting the signatures in is so nice, no sewing, putting holes in the pages... Have a good week nina, stay safe , love lena xxx

Good morning Lena. We had a covering in between Christmas and New Year, but it didn’t stay long. The weather has been beautiful here during the past couple of days and again this morning we have woken to wonderful blue skies , albeit very cold. What a shame the snow didn’t linger for a while longer in Holland. I’m really pleased with my journal so far and I’m looking forward to creating in it. Love this! And I love how you inserted the signatures. Way better than the sew-in method, which does have its place, too, but the elastic string is so much easier and more versatile!

It seems I'm 9 months behind...but I just started following you making this journal and I really enjoy it and learn alot! About the glue bottles, I bought some recently and also found the closure enjoying until I realised that the tip has a tiny opening and you just fold it to the side without taking it off. Then it's not in the way. And when done you just fold it back. Maybe you or someone else already figured it out...but I thought I'd mention it just in case .. My cover has dried and I am ready for step nr 2! Having so much fun! TFS 🤗🦋🌻🕊️

I've just about finished last year's and I think I have got the hang of this junk journaling now. I'll find out over the coming months. Thanks for saying it will be Boho themed (or I can choose my own theme). I find it helpful to have one word to think about as I pick papers and images. A more generic 'choose what you like' has me floundering between too many styles and then my pages don't flow properly.

Yes it does. Take some getting used to and the important thing is to not overthink it. It’s w good idea to stick with one theme, be it bohemian or anything else. Just enjoy the process ❤️

Thank you so much for demonstrating how to secure those metal corners! Love the the idea of the little flowers on the ends of your elastic. The look is fab and because they are flat it is very practical for comfort and easy creating! Your paper selection is amazing! The tray is a great idea, too! I really like the no-sew to hold in your signatures!! That way you can add more if you need to!! I have been cleaning out my kitchen cabinets and organizing them. But I have my cardboard for the cover. I am still thinking of what to use to cove it.

oops... edited to add: I did not look the video further and noticed you also used a hammer :) Just a tip from me on the corners you added, it's very easy to make them stay in place. I don't always use glue. I put them on, and then just hammer on them to close them a little more with a piece of cardboard on top to protect the metal. Depending on the thickness I do sometimes add a little glossy accents just to make sure it will stay in place.

Hi Jay, the one I used was regular haberdashery/craft elastic and was 1mm thickness. You don’t want anything too thick. Hope that helps 💕

Thanks Marcee. It depends on what I am gluing down. I love using my glue stick as it gives me quick and easy coverage, but my go to stronger glues are Art Glitter Glue and Fabrictac/3 in 1. I do find that fabric stiffens your pages which is not so good if you want something to be a bit more flexible. I hope that helps 💕

Where did you get your wallpaper samples?

I’ve been collecting them ever since we moved into our house, more than 20 years ago. Some are from left over rolls that we’ve decorated with. Many companies in the U.K. offer A4 size samples that they will send in the post - they used to be free, but some now charge a small fee to cover postage. Samples are also readily available free of charge in our hardware stores. I hope that helps 💕
