Welcome back to Gina Makes It! I don't know if you're like me, but I have a really bad habit of buying stamps and not using them. When I buy them, I'm certain I will put them to good use, but what ends up happening is they pile up, collecting dust and I pick them up and every now and again and think, gee, I need to use stamps more.

Thanks, I’ve been stamping my vintage stamps out on sheets of Japanese calligraphy paper or tissue paper to see what they look like, lol. Now I keep them in a folder and tear out pieces to use on different projects. Great idea to actually put into a journal! Thanks for the inspiration! 💕💕💕vicki

@@GinaMakesIt. Hi Gina, Daiso if you have one near you, or Amazon also sells it but more expensive. Colors are white or tan. Very thin paper, Slick and smooth on one side and slightly textured on the reverse. Nice paper for crafting! Oh and I subbed, I like your ideas and style of crafting! 💕💕💕vicki

I love this idea! I’m new here, but I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Another fun idea I saw today was to collage leftover bits of papers into an old phone book. I want to try that too, because my town send out 2 or 3 every year! I might combine the two ideas, as my local book a are a good size.

I do this on white and Kraft shipping label paper that way when i cut them out they are stickers. And this way i can also send them to penpals as sticker gifts

I use my stamps on tissue paper and cut them out and it will blend into the journal page really well.

I find stamps irresistible when I’m trolling Amazon. All the detail is amazing. My only problem is that I haven’t even come close to being able to use them. This idea of making pages of all the used and unused stamps to cut out when you find a good place to use them is brilliant. Thank you!

I love using my stamps in my journals. I have a lot of stamps because I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 16 years. I’m always on the lookout for new ones to add to my collection. Since I don’t have any appropriate little journals around, and not time to make one, my idea is to make pages for it as I am using my stamps regularly… Probably using a ring binding so that I can remove and fussy cut as I need..An extra “page“ is not time consuming and I can see how it could benefit in the future! Yay!

Hi Gina, this is a nice video with a good idea, I have another suggestion for you…I have several styles of mailing labels, circle labels etc I stamp with archival ink onto the labels, then I can use my distressed inks or pan pastels or makers or watercolor pens to color the labels and then I can peel and stick or even fussy cut them before peeling the back. It’s helped me get more use out of my stamps. Those sheets of labels fit into a binder easily so they can be organized as well. Anyway I liked your idea of the booklet with assorted papers too. Hi! I bought that hand clip from an estate sale a few years ago. It is so helpful because it really quite heavy and does really keep the pages down! I wish I knew of a retailer who sold one, but I don’t!

Really nice idea. Thanks for sharing. I stamp off a bunch of hand carved stamps and other favorites on tissue paper and napkin backs. Save them in a little 5x7 3-ring binder with pockets. I use them a lot. This is similar. I'd use this a lot too.

This is a brilliant idea! I have the same issue - I tried stamping onto the inner layers of napkins, but some of the inks blurred within a few days; it was attempt # 1 to a) produce a few make-ahead stamps and b) use up that white layer stash. But I think a book will be far more accessible for me!

I was doing this over the week and got carried away with the stamping on dyed paper. At first I wanted words and sentiments but then I added florals, swirls or interesting images. Most of my rubber stamps are kept in boxes there often other craft supplies stacked on top the space in my room are small. I find pigment and juicy ink give the better impression. I want to add stamping to art journaling but find such hassle taking them out. All my stamps are catalog but seems too much effort search for one specific image. I keep the ones I want to use separate box. I made some fussy cut stamped stickers and keep the pieces in ephemera book this is so far convenient method.

Great idea! Much easier than looking through tons of stamps all of the time. I personally like the way stamped images look when cut out and placed on a page, though I don’t actually fussy cut them out. It adds so much much more dimension than when stamped directly onto a page. I enjoy doing that in my own journals. Thanks!

Love this! I have a little hard bound sketchbook probably 3 x 4 or 5 that I started stamping any new stamps in…somehow I just haven’t done it in awhile. I’m inspired to get back to it! Very fun to flip through also. Keep on stamping!

Fun idea that I'm going to try and incorporate into my practice soon! I like your simple approach to journaling as well.... picture, memory and a few elements. ❤ Also... I'm searching for ideas for keeping my Fabri-Tac glue on the ready during crafting sessions, as I love the glue but I'm not liking the waiting for it to ooze to the tip of the bottle. I saw you keep yours tipped down in a glass bowl? Is this for only during craft sessions or for longer? Do you find you waste a lot of glue this way or does it stop seeping out after the first bit as the dried glue acts as a stopper?
