I bought a 2008 Yaris in 2018. Had less than 10k miles on it. Drove it for 3 years and then gave it to my daughter. 65k on it now and still going strong with zero issues. It's the base model and about the dumbest car you can purchase, so little room for failure. I give you a five star rating for the Yaris jokes.

LMAO! Glad you were impressed at my Yaris humor. Ya know - I think before I am done I will have done a video on every one of your cars.

You should go buy a new tundra with the twin turbo v6 that comes with metal shavings in the engine....or a tacoma that virtually nothing electrical that works correctly on a consistent basis..... Please go buy one of those two. Vlog the whole experience on KZbin so i can be entertained.😈

Chrysler fan here! Chrysler isn’t as bad as people make them out to be. They are average vehicles for average people. They are not the absolute worst. I’ve got lots of family and friends with Chrysler products and they all have been relatively trouble free. I’m not saying they don’t have issues but if you maintain and take care of your vehicle it will take care of you. The only reason why Chrysler gets a bad rep is because every industry has to have an underdog and one that gets kicked around. Not to mention most people who do buy Chryslers are on a budget so maintenance isn’t a priority.
@MikeTheBackyardMechanic7 ай бұрын
Full disclosure: my best friend's brother has worked at Chrysler 29 years, my friend only drives Chryslers, my father in-law retired as a lifer assembly line worker, and my grandpa (who has made "appearances" on my videos) was a lifer tool and die maker there. My first car was a 65 Plymouth Fury, I had a 75 Duster that would just rip, and I had a 86 LeBron convertible that... well it ran. It's mostly about ownership turmoil and questionable decisions in the past few decades.
@tman49157 ай бұрын
@@MikeTheBackyardMechanicI would agree. I’m highly disappointed with the new company that is ruining Chrysler. Especially with they killed off lots of profitable models. The French don’t understand the American market and consumers. That’s why that dreadful Dodge Hornet is a dud because nobody ask them to make that and it has completely nothing to do with Dodge it’s just a rebadged Alfa. 🤢 We were happy with the Charger and Challenger. I’m not defending Chrysler on all levels because yeah they have made some real turds and bad management discsions but not everything they make is awful.

This is good information for the average person that is concerned with frugality and cost savings over time regarding a used car purchase. In my case I have beat the system. I Uber EVERYWHERE. My cost is around $360.00 per week and I never have to worry about unexpected car repair expenses. The only drawback is the one time I was knocked out and woke up in an ice filled bath tub with one of my kidneys missing.

That's an avenue I had not considered. I don't have much dealings with Uber, Uber Eats, nor Uber Organs.

@@MikeTheBackyardMechanic I have a different criteria for buying used.. There's so many factors, including how the car was maintained, did it live in a garage, etc.. that affect longevity. Sometimes, even if a car has lower quality, but the parts are cheap, and it's not hard to work on, it's a deal.. Just ask any Chrysler 300 owner with the 5.7 Hemi.

I have never in my life seen a GM outlast a Honda; never! The older GM's were still bad but the newer ones are worse. Plastic cracks, transmissions crapping out, handles breaking off, electrical problems up the wazoo! Meanwhile, I've seen tons of Honda's with 300,000k+ miles still going strong and everything still works. A GM could never!
@unclefester46267 ай бұрын
Older GM'S lasted if you did oil changes every 3k miles.

When it comes to larger V8 SUVs and trucks, a GM will for sure outlast something like a Pilot

@@unclefester4626 Great point, and the exact problem with new ones, their oil monitor says good for 10,000, (if synthetic and no one does) and a horrid idea, this is why the ecotechs and 3.6 engines fail, oil actives timing chain tension, variable valves, cylinder cooling, it's not just to lube. PS this is also killing Subarus, Hondas, and even Toyotas as they are using low tension rings that GM invented
