It doesn't work on all models all the time it will save you some time though most of the time you can get aftermarket cats hi flow cheap but this depends if you live in a communist country or not.

just wanted to let you all know, cleaners are great, unless you have a turbocharger, then do not do it, most of them raise exhaust temps to the point of overheating the oil on the turbo shaft to the point of baking it and locking up your turbo

My car has 228K miles and the exhaust stinks like when driving up a gill and you're overloading the cat. I checked the cats and they looked fine. My car has the second O2 sensor in the middle of the cat. So, I'm wondering if the restriction is at the end of the cat? When I step on the gas, to the floor, I can hear a slight restriction. The nufflers are fine. When at the back of the car and have someone ev it, I can hear a faint restriction in the exhaust, and it doesn't sound like it's at the resonators. With the exhaust past the cats off, it's difficult to hear if it's restricted, because of the louder exhaust sound. I do not get any codes for anything. But the exhaust sure does stink like overloaded cats. I tried the first stuff you showed and it didn't seem to work. I did add it to 1/4 tank, but when driving 19 miles, I had an emergency to deal with. I onky made it to about 12 miles. I drove it until it was about empty, but over a couple of days. Then I added fuel. My car is a 2011 Charger RT. My son's car, Toyota Echo, had the code given. I washed it out, but using dish soap, Dawn, and soaking the cat in a bucket of water and soao over night, then back flusging water through it, the code never came back. It's been over 2 years. His cat was all black. Mine looks practically new from the top and middle. I have two cats, one oer side of engine.

When I changed the spark plugs on my 2015 Outback I got my hand stuck in the engine compartment on the driver side and had to wait a half an hour for my wife to get home to get some cooking oil so I could pull it out. These new spark plugs do not wear like the old carbon points mine looked almost brand new the porcelain was a little discolored but the points were just fine I'm never changing the plugs preventivly again🎉

I had no problem removing those rotor screws Just need to use the proper size screwdriver, Also I think you are way over tightening them on re install They only need to be snugged and flush

Not wanting to spend money on a vehicle with 175k miles on it is not modern thinking. Many, many vehicles go 250k miles and considering what used vehicles cost it's usually cheaper to fix what you got than buy a new used mystery and starting over again.

I used that cleaner on my wife and it just passed emissions. The non-foulers are an old trick that works.

Easy fix is a test pipe and an O2 sensor "fooler" that takes the downstream O2 sensor slightly out of the exhaust as to change the signal from the upstream and downstreams to fool the ECU into thinking the catalyst is still present and working. Fuck the EPA.

I have a 2012 and it happened to me about 4 years ago.

Question for anyone who knows anything about the catalytic converter.. my car’s check engine light has been going on and off for about a year now. At the beginning it’d be there for a day and I wouldn’t see it again for a few weeks. It’s been about 4-5 months now that it rarely doesn’t have the light on. To put it into perspective, I have a 2017 Subaru crosstrek that had 80,000 miles on it. My car has been acting a little jumpy these last couple months when accelerating too quickly but otherwise is acting no different. I assumed it was blocked or dirty, but I checked my tailpipe and it was extremely clean.. like the dust on my tv stand would be dirtier. I had a mechanic check my sensors and they are both working properly. He recommended replacing it but I’m not convinced that there isn’t a more simple solution. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong and how I can fix it?

I followed the directions for cataclean, and it worked for only a day, and then the damn service engine soon came back on.
