@Trevor Halperin the segaris are definitely cool and different. When the factory closed down they left behind a lot of molds for the cars. I'd of loved to of gotten my hands on one but I don't actually know the fate that became for them. I'm in UK myself but actually have a 1979 dodge sportsman 6 birth RV I'm renovating. Credit where credit is due. It was built solid. Especially compared to most British vehicles of the same era.

TVR Typhoon is more dangerous than Tuscan because it was the only road-legal TVR to hit the 200mph mark (more than 210mph for supercharged variant) with no electronic assistance nor enough downforce to stay on the track properly, also not to mention how short the wheelbase is

These came out when I was 6, almost 7. We went down to the dealership afterhours to look at it because the internet didn't exist back then. I stood there for a half hour, face pressed to the glass, just...in awe, staring at this crazy car. In a world of Chrysler K cars, boxy trucks, fox mustangs and 3rd gen camaros this car blew my damn mind. I recorded, on vhs, motor trend and car and driver's weekly tv shows in hopes I'd catch the one with the review of the viper. I bought my first car and driver magazine just to see pictures of it. To a car kid in the early 90s, the Diablo, F40, and McLaren F1 were dream cars but there was no chance of ever seeing one in real life in a small town in Arkansas. The viper though, it was at the local dealership. It was tangible.

@@Alexnahar The Tuscan is probably one of the least dangerous TVRs. The Cerbera Speed 12 was pretty fucking bonkers. I believe the production road car was cancelled because the owner of TVR at the time took it for a drive and decided fuck no, even that is too dangerous for TVR. There's actually one or two of them still around, I believe. The Typhon is also pretty fucking bonkers. Saw a guy driving one about 10 year ago...in the snow...right at a junction where a land rover had crashed and took out a traffic light and most people were deciding to just not fucking drive. The balls on that dude probably had their own gravity.

Chris Munsey my god... thinking of it now, a 16 year old getting a manual V10 sports car with no T/C, S/C, ABS, nothing to prevent the stupid mistakes teenagers make. I mean I’m 18 with a 2000 Civic, got it at 17, even for it being slower than a Miata it’s very easy to get in trouble with it. Look at all the cars we drove in back in the 40's 50's, 60's 70's and so on. Those cars didn't even have seat belts, and had metal dash boards. No power steering, no power brakes and more. And we loved em. I still want this Dodge Viper and have been looking for one. Best part is ....... they're cheap .... AND .... you can actually work on them yourself.

"Don't think you should be focusing on heel-toeing..." That's the reason why so may of them crashed, dude. People driving a serious car with inept technique before the invention of electronic driver aids. Downshifting under braking with no rev-match (aka neglecting to heel-toe) will lock the rear wheels of this car and cause it to spin out with no possibility of correction. There is literally video of this happening on a track with this very car (and some inept driver) somewhere on youtube. Just because the car doesn't have automatic rev matching and 10 different kinds of traction control and stability assist doesn't mean its inherently dangerous. It just means you maybe have to know how to drive manual fully as a bare minimum in order to drive it safely. If one more person implies that heel-toe is some kind of "advanced" manual technique I'm going to declare driving culture officially dead.

Then someone told me about the Plymouth Prowler and I switched focus. I bought the Prowler instead and still have my 1999 Plymouth Prowler and I constantly get the looks like you did @ 07:54 The only problems I've had with my Prowler was [both} window regulators had to be fixed. Other than that, "nothing" else wrong. I love it. !! :) But now .... after watching this video, I think I'll buy a Viper and add it to my garage. :)

Shane Husack Now that I’m older, I would likely do the same. If you already have a daily driver, and the sports car is for weekends, go Viper. It won’t decrease in value either (which is important!). My Porsche cost $1600 per service for what amounted to little more than an oil change (10.5 quarts of Mobil1 iirc) Edit: on second thought, 2010-2015 911 (997.2 ? 991 maybe?) Turbos are next level, even compared with the last Viper models. It comes down to preference I suppose. All generations of Viper with exception to Gen 5 and possibly Gen 4 have likely depreciated about as low as they are going to and will hold or increase their value. The Viper will be cheaper to buy and maintain as well, but not be as reliable (Porsche’s are surprisingly reliable, but expensive to maintain). The Porsche will be more “practical”, comfortable, safer, but not as raw/visceral, and won’t attract quite as much attention (I’m sure you already know most of this). Really just a matter of preference. Vipers get your testosterone pumping like nothing else though.

"Ya gotcher balls to the wall, man!!!" Ahaha, my cousin used to crank that cassette tape..yup, lol in his '73 Charger, that and Ratt, on the way to a job we had together. my car was a '71 Satellite 2 dr painted to look like Daisy Duke's roadrunner & had a '74 cop 440 & 3.55 sg rear, 727 torque-flite trans. His charger only had a 318, but was in nicer shape, metal flake blue & Cragar SS wheels, lol. Viper! I've never had the privilege of driving one, I'm quite sure I'd love it. They're captivating af to look at & listen to.

My buddy Randy Wrapped his 95' Viper around a tree. He was one of the best drivers I ever met too.

All that driving inside “the” viper with the sound of an angry exhaust note is making me jealous 😠

It will forever remind me of the stereotypical hot wheels car and i love it because of that. Plus ive seen those three spoke wheels on some stance cars and it made me angry and also made me love the 1st gen Viper more!

I've always wanted a 93. I learned to drive without traction control or and and all that other fun stuff. It's exciting to drive a car by feel rather than having a crutch to lean on.

My 1990 Nissan 300zx has no traction control or stability control. I’ve had it for four years driven in the rain and snow before. It’s a real drivers car. Best car I’ve ever driven. I can only imagine how nice that 93 viper drives. I bet it hugs the road so nice. I’d love to get one some day.
