Thanks for watching AB-TheBoss, brilliant car and great price, I was looking at 2015 onwards in this video. Is it high mileage at that price? Sounds like a great deal 👍. Check out my lease deal videos for that EV 👍

@@DefinitelyNotAGuru It was the 2 litre diesel but it was fairly high milage, getting towards the 100k mark. I'll be sure to check out your lease deal videos too"

Cheers for this video Jim. I'm about to hand my company car back so this was just the video that I needed! Although the XF was at the top of my list so you've got me thinking twice about that choice! But the A6 was next on the list... :)
@DefinitelyNotAGuru3 жыл бұрын
XF’s are great cars but just Google common faults and average repair costs and maybe read some owner reviews first. I’d go for the 5 series or the A6 but that’s probably not a big surprise 🤣

Hi Jim. Although I have owned many different cars over the years I have never had a big, plush, executive vehicle. You can clearly get an awful lot of car for £15K. Some are a bit 'gangsta' in appearance but that just reflects my personal taste of course. The initial depreciation on this type of car is obviously pretty eye-watering but that's what makes them such an attractive purchase once they get to 3 or 4 years old.
@DefinitelyNotAGuru3 жыл бұрын
They do seem decent value for money once the initial depreciation has hit, it's still difficult to really recommend one at that price compared to a lease though (if the deal is good enough!)

I'm thinking about upgrading my owned car and your videos have swayed me towards getting a lease but I do ~25k miles per year so the best deals on premium cars are still pretty pricey. Would you consider doing a vid looking at high mileage lease deals? No worries if too niche, loving the channel anyway, ta!

Thanks for watching Paul Beaney, I’ll add it to the list mate and try to get one out this week, high miles can make leasing expensive though 👍

I know this video's a few months old I bought a 2 years old Golf 15 -16 years ago I had had it maybe 2 years and just thought I'd do an hpi check thinking it would be clear it was a 1 owner lease car , comes out when it was sold it the leasing company hasn't signed off the paperwork so after getting name of leasing company of log book it was sorted they didn't owe anything on it they told me it can happen alot leasing companies wouldn't sell cars that they owed money on , now I wouldn't know how to trace former owner as they don't have former keeper on .

Wow, haven’t heard of that one before. Chances are it went via BCA auctions.

That 33k on the E class looks like a work of fiction...33,000 miles in 7 years?

Our family car has done 16k in 4 years. My mother-in-law’s does about 1500 per year. If I were buying that car though I’d go over it with a fine tooth comb

Great but if it’s a diesel make 100% sure it’s been well serviced, ideally above and beyond BMW recommended intervals.

@@DefinitelyNotAGuru ive heard about the timing belt issues but i heard after the 2015 they fixed some of the issues or is that not the case
@DefinitelyNotAGuru2 жыл бұрын
@@MattHowlett_ yes to a degree but also other issues on cars that are not regularly maintained. A BMW tech mate of mine says he’s service them every 6-8k if he had one. Great engine if it’s properly looked after but that’s sometimes a big if! 👍
@MattHowlett_2 жыл бұрын
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru yeah guess like most engines though if you don’t service them they will soon throw up problems luckily I only drive about 5k milles as I have a work van so yearly services should be okay

They used to be a lot cheaper, I’m.not sure now with poor exchange rates but I would assume so.

KIA has had serious engine failure and recalls.

If they recall or fix under warranty its not so bad I guess. I wasn’t aware of issues with that engine.
