best vans on the road today yes they have there little faults but what vans dont motor vehicle mechanic all my life so i know a good van when i see one and these transit vans would beat any other vans hands down you can all have your Mercedes sprinters vito , pegeout boxer etc but the only van i would buy any day would be a ford transit and i have had a few off them. i now have myself a little ford transit connect t200 cracking van ford transit vans are just pure class

D - Widdy you can use waxoil or similar, red oxide paint etc , rinse soap off well as it’s corrosive

what about the bad diesel pumps,rusty step wells,rusty arches,drive shaft carrier bearings,bad door locks.....still buy one before most modern vans today.

Did the Ford Transit back then has a Petrol V6? I sometimes drive a Ford Transit 250 here in America. Like a 2020 model with a 10 speed automatic transmission.

Yep they used to use the old Essex and Cologne V6s back in.the days mainly for the ambulance and police forces who needed the high performance for rapid responses. Although they also used the Leyland/DAF Sherpa & Pilot Series with the 3.5 Rover V8s until the they were discontinued. America never got the Transit prior to the Mk6 or somethin i dont th8nk unless ye imported one bur here in Britain we had all of em and the diesel was by far and away the most popular I think atleast mk2 and 9nwards.

who gives a fuck about cracked seat cusions? it is a van that is going to be used and abused what about the rust they are well known for? i had a mk6 never again. i got sick of constantly welding it got a 2004 sprinter now never welded it once in 2 years.
