Little late but just popping in to say the Jackery was so useful for my dad’s CPAP machine while we were without power from Helene. He probably wouldn’t have gotten a week of sleep without it.

Great video, Nate! It was because of your explanation on how to use these that I even considered a solar generator, more specifically, the Jackery. I now have a backup plan in case I lose power and that's a huge deal to me so thank you!! ❤

I just had to do the same thing, the permanent setup did great for the first couple of days but by the third day I was back on the Jackeries. I technically didn't need them, but I really felt like playing video games on those dark days.

One thing I have learned is never be totally dependent on one source of power- have back ups! Keep fuel on hand for a generator (ethanol fuel if you can get it) propane for running outdoor cooking equipment, a back up source of drinking water etc.

I just ordered my first "set up." I'm not going through that again with Helene. I can have the small ecoflow river 2, the smallest one, charged up beforehand for some lights and my Kindles, phone and laptop. It even came with a 45w solar panel to play with. I'm excited to learn more.

I use my 3500W gas Inverter generator as a backup to my 5.0 KWH Battery backup system. Those batteries are kept charged by my 1KW Solar Array. This system backs up all the 120v breakers around my house thru my 120v Solar Sub-Panel next to my Main Grid Panel. Designed my system to last 2 weeks if mostly cloudy burning 10 gallons of gas. If mostly sunny, the solar will keep all the 120v stuff going. Frig, lights, Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fan, PC's, internet, tv's etc. All my 220V stuff runs on the Grid. Should note that on a sunny morning at 9:00am my 1000W array pumps 950 watts usable into my batteries. The Sub-Panel has a switch that flips between Batteries and Grid power thru an 80amp rated DPDT Contactor. So if power goes out, my Spouse can flip the switch and we're good for 12-24 hours at least before she has to hit the start button on the genny. Working on the engineering design for wifi automation, but am on an extremely limited budget being 72. Texas.

I hate to be picky, I have never understood how they call a battery with an inverter all in one unit is some how a generator. It’s a dc to ac inverter. I’m not knocking them at all, and that looks like a nice set up you have there. I agree the two types of systems enhance each other and I like silence as well.

At the end of the day it's a premium product, focused heavily on easy of use and portability. As such it comes with a premium price, but these sales drop the price significantly from what it has been. It's not for everyone, but it's perfect for some. Appreciate you watching 💯 thanks!

For roughly 2.5k I can build a system with 25 percent more power nearly as portable same output and more solar input that price includes panels mabye even cheaper that's just a system I built recently for someone else who bought random stuff and had me assemble it .

I love having a gas generator. The only thing it’s not big enough to power is my air conditioning system because it’s a full-time unit. I’ve used it several times when we’ve had tornadoes come through and it is an absolute lifesaver. I’m a few miles from Mayfield Kentucky if that means anything but because it is noisy. When I do use it. That’s not running constantly. What is the amount of fuel that it uses. It will last about 15 hours on 11 gallons of gas if I remember right at 50% load. So I will intentionally run it or maybe four hours and then turn it off for two. Just enough to keep my fridge and freezer at operating temp. At the same time. I definitely want an electric generator. Then I could just plug my fridge and freezer or anything else in the house into one of those. So if the power does go out. I have nothing to worry about for at least a day.

Just run a system hooked to your home or get an ac for a window and a hookup to the generator ☺️. I throw one in the room window and power that and the fridge when hurricanes hit so I can power what I need and keep cool.,
@ABetterLifeInc
@ABetterLifeInc 14 күн бұрын
@@zethloveless7238 I will eventually do something like that but normally in my area. The storms hit in the winter time. So air-conditioning isn’t the most important but I also want to get a couple small AC window units so I can keep the house a little bit cooler if I need to and a couple bedrooms, really nice and cold for sleeping comfort.

@@ABetterLifeInc dude I have central ac and I also have a window ac in most rooms.(south Louisiana). I never run central anymore and I stay much cooler with my window units and cheaper on my bill. Shoved a 25,000 btu in living space then a 14,000 in the room while sleeping is heaven on earth. I even have a portable 8000 and a few 5000 btu units 😆. I’m not gonna risk it in this Louisiana heat brother. 🫡
